I think whoever wins tomorrow morning likely wins the regional. Both teams should be able to clobber the pitchers that will be left for Q&C

Tresh, who I really like, is a catcher. We definitely don't want him I'm right field. We tried to hide him in left field a few times, which works as long as nobody hits the ball to left. McArthur, Tatum, and Brown have all been given ample time in right, but none have separated from the others, so they rotate. McArthur, Tatum and Brown all basically hit .200. At least when Tatum gets on base his 2 out of 10, he's the fastest kid on the field, which causes good things to happen. He also covers the most ground so he has the most potential upside in field, hopefully with more playing time he should get better. So I would play him all the time or at least platoon with brown depending on pitcher. McArthur shouldn't be on field b/c of his liability at plate.

Debo can't hit anything but a fastball. (Which makes it maddening when he lets a first pitch fastball go by to start out behind.) If he would have went to Tresh early on as DH, he might be a better hitter against college pitching by now, but we'll never know. Looked like Tresh could be the GUY in the future, so it definitely would have helped his developement if he played more this year. I agree he was horrible in left field.

Well, if we advance we will have definitely earned it.
Not just from having to win four games in a row, but from the POV of beating the best pitcher (Agnos) in the regional, as well.

In looking at his stats from the season Agnos gets lots of K's, but also can get a little wild at times -- putting guys on base via both walk and HBP. Need to take advantage with what few gifts we might be given.

Slight irony: ECU held him back to face us in the winner's bracket. Sure, he's facing us now... but in elimination.
Not ideal for either club.
Again -- if we advance then it's well earned. Gonna be tough.

#4 National seed Uga and their ace get crushed by #3 seed and last team in the tourney FSU.
#3 National seed Ga Tech just wasn't there mentally or physically either against Auburn.
West Virginia wasn't prepared.
Stanford lost 7-2, obviously not ready to play mentally.

Baseball is crazy.

Baseball really is crazy. Cream usually rises to the top but who knows. We can still win this regional. Just need bats to get hot.

These baseball threads are AWFUL. Every baseball thread is consumed with:

Avent haters = "avent hasn't won a championship in 23 years" after anly loss or even every play that doesnt go our way

Avent apologists = "look _____ lost today too!!!"..... "Facilities"

Can we just let it play out and argue about it after the chips fall where they may?

Every negative or positive play/outcome doesn't have to be a referendum on Avents tenure.

My issue with the Avent is that there is no planet where UNC should have a better program than NC State, yet year in and year out we are their little *****. As with football, we are a blue collar culture that fits well with baseball, yet we remain consistently behind a school full of entitled fairies who feature argyle in their uniforms and branding.

It is unarguable that with some of our extraordinarily talented teams, we should have at least 4 ACC titles in the last 15 years and we have nothing to show for it. Hell, UNC fell ass first into a ACCT championship this year that was ours for the taking. The only thing I have confidence in with Avent is in his unrivaled ability and consistency to find a way to NOT win a championship.

Do we ever wear the 80s White Sox look a likes any more from the rodon/turner era? Those were the best alternates.

The White Sox 80s are not in the uniform rotation this season. I cannot remember if they were in 2018 uniform rotation.

Pack up 1-0 going to 2nd.

About as good a start from Parker as you can ask for

I think this was at Chapel Hill this season. Since it is Parker, it is this season

So glad Brown is playing in place of McArthur. Hope he can sort it out in the off season because he's good in the outfield.

Looks like we are seeing the ball pretty well...first catch was way better then the second but all were line drives.

McDonough and Jarrett both crushed but caught by LF. Going to bottom 2 up 1-0.
