Start of the regional could have been worse I guess.. We could have lost to a team that plays their home games here....
Now that's a coach that can win despite inadequate facilities. Interview the man. He'll love the Doak.
NC State will open play in the Greenville Regional on Friday against Campbell
The Wolfpack is the No. 2 seed in the regional, and No. 1 seed East Carolina is the host team. The winner of the Greenville Regional will face the winner of the Louisville Regional.

I think whoever wins tomorrow morning likely wins the regional. Both teams should be able to clobber the pitchers that will be left for Q&CWhitetailpack said:wolfpack1437 said:Beat ECU, then loser of Q vs C, then winner of Q vs C 2xAndrew4343 said:
So we have to win 4 in a row now?
Piece of cake.
McArthur, Tatum and Brown all basically hit .200. At least when Tatum gets on base his 2 out of 10, he's the fastest kid on the field, which causes good things to happen. He also covers the most ground so he has the most potential upside in field, hopefully with more playing time he should get better. So I would play him all the time or at least platoon with brown depending on pitcher. McArthur shouldn't be on field b/c of his liability at plate.wilmwolf80 said:
Tresh, who I really like, is a catcher. We definitely don't want him I'm right field. We tried to hide him in left field a few times, which works as long as nobody hits the ball to left. McArthur, Tatum, and Brown have all been given ample time in right, but none have separated from the others, so they rotate. A case could be made for Tresh to DH, and he has, but at this point, he's basically either going to strike out, or hit a homer. Despite slumping during the season, Debo has shown to be a better hitter. The reality is that there is give and take with most every player, sometimes you sacrifice hitting to be more solid in the field, and vice versa. If everyone was great in the field and great at the plate, we'd be hosting a super right now. The reality is, we did well early in the year playing around our weaknesses with opportunistic hitting and putting pressure on the other teams defense. This team's margin of error has always been small, things went in our favor earlier this year, and have gone against of late. It's baseball.

Number 1 overall seed UCLA loses to Loyola Marymount. Another team not mentally and physically prepared by their coach.

Baseball really is crazy. Cream usually rises to the top but who knows. We can still win this regional. Just need bats to get hot.

I see what you're doing, but comparing results in one regional to 23 years is not valid. Savage has won the CWS in his tenure.

These baseball threads are AWFUL. Every baseball thread is consumed with:
Avent haters = "avent hasn't won a championship in 23 years" after anly loss or even every play that doesnt go our way
Avent apologists = "look _____ lost today too!!!"..... "Facilities"
Can we just let it play out and argue about it after the chips fall where they may?
Every negative or positive play/outcome doesn't have to be a referendum on Avents tenure.

My only issue is our uniforms. Do we ever wear a red jersey? Is this a home/away thing?

I care way more about the results but it seems like we always go camo or white. Players can't pick whatever they want if it helps them win.
Do we ever wear the 80s White Sox look a likes any more from the rodon/turner era? Those were the best alternates.
