I don't mind this matchup. The Pierats don't scare me and if we win, I'd love another crack at Louisville

If anyone has access to tickets let me know. I have a good friend who was crushed we didn't host the regional but still wants to go to Greenville. Thanks in advance for any help!

We better pay attention to beating Campbell first. If nothing else , the ACC Tourney shows that we have to focus on the game at hand, the team and us fans included. Both Campbell and ECU would love to beat us and send us home. Got to score the guys when the get on base. Can not strand runners inning after inning. Go Pack !!

Hopefully the fact Campbell beat us just a couple of weeks ago (mid-week or not, it counts) will get the attention.
We played them 2x this season, so no secrets between us I'd guess.

This is exactly why I do not like this region for us. We are matched up with two little brothers that love nothing more than to be beating us in anything.

I dunno, I think if you have to play little brother teams, playing then on the road may be better. There's no comfort of home, no relaxing. It's a high leverage situation in a stressful environment. The focus should be there.

I suspect we need to start out 2-0. I don't see us making it through in a 5 game scenario.

I forgot to go back and add that while I don't like it this is an absolutely winnable region for us. You're right about playing on the road especially in Greenville where they don't like you.

I believe that's two years in a row Campbell has done that to us as the last midweek game of the year (or close to last ). Conversely, when we played them earlier in the season for the last two years the combined score is 31-5. So...we shall see.

Worst possible place to go. ECU is the best team in NC this year and last thing I need is to hear the crap I am going to hear when they knock us out (and they will for sure). The NCAA just loves to f us anytime they can. We weren't getting out of any regional anyway but would rather not lose to freaking pirates.

Take it up with the baseball committee chair...who is that...oh yeah, Ray Tanner. Lol.

I sure hope state isn't out-motivated because of the little brother deal in the tournament. Shouldn't need any extra motivation anyway

It would greatly benefit everyone posting here to pay attention to this warning. This is about NC State Baseballs participation in the upcoming regional baseball games in Greenville, NC and the 3 other teams selected. It is not about the amount of titles that have or have not been won by the Wolfpack.in your lifetime. Everyone is pretty familiar about our history and trust we I say this, everyone is sick and tired of posters bringing it up everytime they post!

If you want to whine about things go to Chapel Hill and maybe they can supply the cheese to go with it

Pirate Nation is stoked. Their asses are chapped after the curb stomping we gave them in football.

100% agree...this is the NCAA tournament. You should be motivated. I'd guess many of these guys know each other....we should be motivated to step on their heads.
And we should be motivated to beat Campbell for the same reasons.

Campbell has beaten State already. They've also beaten ECU this year. And Duke. And Maryland.

Throw in about 5,500 rabid ECU fans, and State couldn't have asked for a worse region.

That warning is well overdue. And it should be accompanied by some overdue vacations from this site for certain posters that insist on trying to make every thread a miserable experience.

Pretty sure all those wins for Campbell were midweek so not much to take away from that. State did hammer the guy Campbell will likely start on Friday. Campbell is good but one of the worst three seeds in the field. As for ECU, the talent level is pretty similar to state which hasn't been the case the last couple years in regionals. It's a pretty good draw

Is Kuchmaner going to be one of the primary starters for ECU? He's a local kid, won a state championship at Marvin Ridge, though he was kind of 2nd headliner because they had another kid who went straight to MLB as a 3rd round pick (and is now out of the game)

His sister actually played volleyball at State.

I would think so. He actually tossed a no hitter against Maryland earlier this year.

Yeah Kuchmaner and Agnos are their two guys. I would prefer State see Kuchmaner because his strikeout numbers aren't nearly as impressive as Agnos which tells you his stuff likely isn't as good. I imagine State sees Agnos though

Now, I admit that I have not watched as many baseball games this year as I would have liked, but the last few games, the at bats have not looked good at all. Now, they have faced some good pitchers too, but it seems it is either pop up or ground out early in an at-bat or taking 2 strikes and then swinging at a breaking ball out of the zone. Do we chalk this up to quality of pitching, getting down early and trying to press, or what?
