.@PackWTennis battled out a close 4-3 win over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.

The win was Simon Earnshaw's 139th with the Pack, making him the winningest coach in program history.

Probably the biggest outlier in our athletics program. There is no reason we should be this good in women's tennis other than the head coach. Some people questioned Yow when she replaced fairly successful coach's in both tennis programs. Now both are thriving.

No. 2 NC State women's tennis picked up its eighth top-25 win of the season in dramatic fashion with a comeback victory over No. 15 Wake Forest on Tuesday evening.

With the win, NC State improved to 15-1 overall and 3-0 in ACC play. The Pack also started conference competition with a 3-0 mark in 2020, and it's best ACC start in program history was a 4-0 record set in 1998.

It was also a milestone night for head coach Simon Earnshaw as he officially became the winningest coach in program history. He has amassed 139 victories since taking the helm ahead of the 2014-15 campaign.

NC State dropped the doubles point for just the second time this season but went on to win four of six singles courts in what was its ninth-straight win over the Demon Deacons. The Wolfpack has not dropped a decision to Wake Forest since 2015 dual match play.

The Wolfpack showed tremendous resilience up and down the board in singles action. Two of the team's wins were in straight sets, and the remaining four courts went into third sets, with many of those occurring after NC State dropped multiple first sets.

Sophie Abrams got the Pack on the board with a 6-2, 7-6 (3) win over Samantha Martinelli, withstanding a late surge from the Wake Forest graduate to complete the win.

Priska Nugroho came back from a set down for a 2-6, 6-1, 6-2 win over No. 84 Casie Wooten on three to put the Pack in front 2-1.

Wake Forest then fired off a pair of wins on six and one to take the 3-2 lead, but it was all NC State for the rest of the night. No. 24 Abigail Rencheli was able to get the job done in straight sets 6-4, 7-6 (5) over Anna Campana, and the decision once again came down to No. 112 Nell Miller on court four.

Miller, who clinched Sunday's 4-3 decision over No. 14 Miami, broke to go up 5-4 in the third set and went on to serve the match out. Her final score against Anna Brylin was 3-6, 7-6 (1), 6-4.

NC State will play its next four ACC matches on the road at Clemson (March 18), Georgia Tech (March 20), Boston College (March 25) and Syracuse (March 27).

Second-ranked NC State women's tennis tied the best start to ACC play in program history as it improved to 4-0 in league action with a 6-1 win at Clemson on Friday night.

The Wolfpack is now 16-1 overall as it continues its best start to a season in team history.

NC State gutted out a tightly-contested doubles point and picked up additional victories on five of six singles courts to cruise to the team victory. Jaeda Daniel and Nell Miller broke to tie their doubles match at 6-6 and force the tiebreaker that they went on to win to clinch the doubles point.

Daniel, Priska Nugroho, Sophie Abrams and Amelia Rajecki then went on to earn straight-sets wins in singles, and Abigail Rencheli rounded out the team's sixth point of the night in a super tiebreaker for her third set.

NC State continues its weekend on the road with a trip to Georgia Tech on Sunday. First serve is set for 2 p.m. from the Byers Tennis Complex in Atlanta.

After tying the best start to league play in program history on Friday, No. 2 NC State women's tennis set a new record mark as it improved to 5-0 in ACC matches with a 5-2 win over Georgia Tech on Sunday.

NC State moves to 17-1 overall and extended its current winning streak to seven matches.

Doubles action featured a pair of ranked matchups on the top two courts, but the Wolfpack took care of business across the board as all three matches finished within minutes of each other. Priska Nugroho and Sophie Abrams secured the 6-4 win first on three, and Abigail Rencheli and Amelia Rajecki took an early multi-game lead that they held onto for a 6-2 win on two.

Jaeda Daniel and Nell Miller then added the 6-3 decision over 12th-ranked Carol Lee and Kate Sharabura on one, marking their highest ranked win of the season as a duo.

NC State went on to secure straight-sets wins from Rencheli, Rajecki and Abrams in singles to clinch the match. The Yellow Jackets got on the board with a pair of wins, and Daniel rounded out the match in two sets for the Pack's fifth point.

The Wolfpack continues its road stint next weekend with matches at Boston College (March 25) and at Syracuse (March 27).
