The Wolfpack won the doubles point and the first four singles courts off in straight sets. Abigail Rencheli and Sophie Abrams each won their fifth-straight singles match, and Jaeda Daniel and Amelia Rajecki put their personal winning streaks at three matches apiece.

In doubles, Abrams and Priska Nugroho cruised to a 6-2 win on court three, and Rencheli and Rajecki secured the deciding match on court two with a 7-5 score.

NC State continues its weekend on the road with a match at Syracuse on Sunday. First serve is set for 11 a.m. and the match will be broadcast on ACCNX until it is clinched.

No. 2 NC State women's tennis wrapped up a perfect weekend of action with a 6-1 road victory at Syracuse on Sunday afternoon.

With the win, the Wolfpack improved to 19-1 on the season and maintained its perfect record in ACC action by moving to 7-0 in league matches. NC State has now won nine matches in a row, with that streak starting on Feb. 20.

NC State got doubles wins on courts one and three to clinch the opening point, only dropping a single game between those two matches. After a forfeit on six, the Wolfpack then got straight-sets wins from Priska Nugroho and Amelia Rajecki to officially earn the win. Sophie Abrams and Abigail Rencheli also added three set victories with super tiebreakers to put the Pack's final tally at six points.

NC State returns home to welcome Triangle rivals Duke and North Carolina to the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center next weekend. The Wolfpack hosts the Blue Devils on Friday, April 1 at 5 p.m. and the Tar Heels at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 3. Those three Triangle teams are currently the top three squads in this year's ACC standings about halfway through league action.

All signs point towards an action-packed weekend for @PackWTennis with two top-10 matchups on the horizon.

No. 10 Duke comes first, but the Pack will undoubtedly want to enact its revenge on No. 1 UNC, the team's only loss of the season.

MATCH IMPLICATIONS:

NC State, UNC and Duke each rank in the top five in the league standings, with the Tar Heels and the Wolfpack owning the top two spots. A Friday win against the Blue Devils would mark the Pack's first time beating them in back-to-back seasons. A Sunday win against UNC would be the Pack's first in 24 years and its first time defeating the nation's No. 1 team.

#2 ranked Women's tennis versus #1 UNC. Being ranked #2 against a #1 ranked opponent doesn't happen very often. According to the coach in this tweet, this is only the second time it's ever happened at home in school history, in any sport.

This is something we may never see again in our lifetime, and if we were to pull the upset it would be truly historical. I'm definitely going to make it to this match in person.

For those who don't know, it's completely free to attend the matches. The tennis complex is right beside the baseball field. I've been to about 4 home matches over the past three years. With the team format, it's actually a very exciting sport to attend in person, as you have 3-6 matches going on at a time.

In a top-15 showdown between a pair of Triangle ACC foes, second-ranked NC State and 14th-ranked Duke put on a close matchup tonight, but the Blue Devils came out on top with the 4-3 win.

The loss was just the Pack's second on the year and first in conference action as the team moved to 19-2 and 7-1 in ACC play. Prior to Friday night, NC State had won nine matches in a row and had not fallen at home.

The Wolfpack took a quick advantage in the match with the doubles point, getting clinching decisions from Priska Nugroho and Sophie Abrams (6-2) and 11th-ranked Jaeda Daniel and Nell Miller (6-3) to take an early lead.

From there, the teams were head-to-head all night, trading wins back and forth in the early stages of singles. Amelia Rajecki and Priska Nugroho got straight-sets decisions on six and three, while Duke took the win on one to put the match score at 3-1 in favor of the Pack. The remaining three matches then went into third sets, with the Blue Devils taking narrow decisions on each of those remaining courts.

NC State is home again on Sunday, April 3 to round out its weekend of Triangle action against top-ranked North Carolina. First serve between the Wolfpack and the Tar Heels is set for 2 p.m. from the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center, and admission to the match is free.
