Wolfpack women's tennis is set for its first Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) championship event of the fall season as it sends four members of the squad to the ITA All-American Championships. The tournament runs Oct. 4-10 at the LTP Tennis Club in Mount Pleasant, S.C.

Alana Smith, Abigail Rencheli, Sophie Abrams and Jaeda Daniel earned selection to the 64-player qualifying singles draw. Eight players from that field will earn spots in the main draw, and Smith is the top alternate for that bracket to further up her chances of advancing. The Wolfpack's four singles entries marks the most by any school in the ACC and the second most by any school in the country behind Pepperdine's five.

Smith and Daniel will also compete in the main draw of doubles action. Qualifying singles runs Monday, Oct. 4 and Tuesday, Oct. 5 before main draw matches get underway on Wednesday, Oct. 6.

Live stats will only be available for main draw matches.

Smith, Rencheli, Abrams and Daniel were all in action last weekend at the Fall Ranked Spotlight that the Pack hosted at Cary Tennis Park. Wolfpack veterans Daniel and Smith went unbeaten in doubles action, picking up two victories over ranked opponents on the way to winning the weekend title.

Smith compiled a 4-1 record in singles action, and Rencheli reached the consolation final in the singles A bracket.

NC State will continue fall action back in North Carolina as it participates in the ITA Carolina Regional in Winston-Salem from Oct. 21-25. The tournament serves as another opportunity for the Wolfpack to earn berths to the upcoming ITA Fall Nationals, which is scheduled for the beginning of November.

Alana Smith and Jaeda Daniel highlighted the NC State women's tennis team's run at the ITA All-American Championships by reaching the doubles semifinal over the weekend.

The Wolfpack duo, which enters the season ranked 27th nationally, went 3-1 over the course of main draw action before falling to eighth-ranked Brooke Killingsworth and Anna Brylin on Saturday. Before that match, Daniel and Smith started the weekend with a victory over No. 11 Shiori ***uda and Taisiya Pachkaleva and added two more ranked wins before the semifinal matchup.

Smith also put together an impressive run in the singles bracket, earning her way into the main draw after going unbeaten in qualifying action. All of her singles matches were also against ranked opponents, with her highest ranked win of the weekend coming in straight sets (6-3, 6-0) over Viktoriya Kanapatskaya in the first round of the main draw.

Daniel, Abigail Rencheli and Sophie Abrams all also participated in the national tournament.

NC State women's tennis will make the quick trip to Winston-Salem, N.C., over the weekend to play in the ITA Carolina Regional on the campus of Wake Forest. The Wolfpack begins tournament action Friday, Oct. 22, and the event runs through Monday, Oct. 25.

The regional serves as a chance for members of the 2021-22 Wolfpack squad to earn automatic berths to the upcoming 2021 ITA National Fall Championships event. That fall season finale is set for Nov. 4-7 in San Diego, Calif. The regional doubles champions and regional singles finalists will earn that automatic qualification.

NC State will be represented by nearly its full squad, as Julia Abrams, Sophie Abrams, Jaeda Daniel, Sara Nayar, Amelia Rajecki and Abigail Rencheli all make the trip to compete this weekend.

Three of those women (S. Abrams, Daniel, Rencheli) recently participated in the ITA All-American Championships. At that tournament, Daniel and teammate Alana Smith highlighted the Pack's run by reaching the doubles semifinal. That result came after the duo won the doubles title at the Fall Ranked Spotlight at the end of September.
