Duke's Chloe Beck has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, and NC State's Priska Nugroho has been selected the league's Freshman of the Week.

Nugroho earned her third consecutive and fifth overall ACC Freshman of the Week honor after helping the Wolfpack close out the regular season with back-to-back sweeps over Louisville and Notre Dame. She posted two singles victories over the weekend at the No. 3 position and has 20 singles victories on the season despite not playing in the fall. She also stand 10-1 in doubles action after a dominating 6-0 win over Louisville. NC State finished the regular season 22-4 overall and tied for third at 10-3 in the ACC.

Third-ranked NC State women's tennis (23-4) qualified for its fourth-straight ACC Championships quarterfinal appearance as the No. 5 seed Wolfpack defeated No. 12 seed Clemson 4-0 in Thursday afternoon's second-round matchup.

The Pack has now played in the quarterfinal round of the conference tournament every season since 2017-18. NC State moves on to face seventh-ranked and No. 3 seed Virginia on Friday.

NC State claimed the doubles point with wins on courts two and three after both of those duos went up a break after Clemson's first service games. Priska Nugroho and Sophie Abrams blanked the Tigers 6-0, and 26th-ranked Amelia Rajecki and Abigail Rencheli followed up with a 6-2 victory.

The Wolfpack continued to make quick work of the match with three straight-sets wins in singles. The team clinched the victory in under three hours.

Rencheli, who is ranked 40th nationally in singles, came out on top of a ranked matchup 6-2, 6-1, and 12th-ranked Jaeda Daniel overcame an early two-game deficit to win her match 6-4, 6-1. Rajecki then served out her 6-3, 6-3 match for the deciding point.

NC State's quarterfinal matchup against Virginia is set for a 3:30 p.m. start on Friday afternoon. The Wolfpack will be looking to earn its first ACC Championships semifinal berth since 1998.

Third-ranked and No. 5 seed NC State women's tennis (23-5) fell 4-2 in Friday afternoon's ACC Championships quarterfinal matchup with seventh-ranked and No. 3 seed Virginia.

The matchup marked the Pack's 13th contest against a fellow top 25 opponent this season. NC State won the opening point in a match that featured five third sets, and multiple Wolfpack players came back from a frame down to extend their matches, but the Cavaliers ultimately came out on top after getting singles wins on four courts.

The Wolfpack delivered the first blow in a back-and-forth match by claiming the doubles point for the second time in as many matches against the Cavaliers this season.

Jaeda Daniel and Nell Miller, ranked second nationally as a duo, secured a top-10 win on court one as they defeated eighth-ranked Emma Navarro and Hibah Shaikh 6-3. Priska Nugroho and Sophie Abrams then got a 6-1 victory over Elaine Chervinksy and Amber O'Dell to take the doubles decision.

Abigail Rencheli was the first to tally a singles win. The 40th-ranked Wolfpack sophomore beat 42nd-ranked Natasha Subhash 6-4, 6-3, with her straight-sets win putting NC State up 2-0 in the team count. Rencheli won the final four games of the first set and never took her foot off the gas pedal from there.

The remaining singles matches went into third sets, and the Cavaliers tied up the team score with back-to-back wins on courts one and six. Nugroho and Amelia Rajecki both overcame set deficits, and Miller also saw hers in the third frame. Virginia ultimately tallied wins on courts three and five to advance at the conference tournament.

NC State now awaits the NCAA Tournament Selection Show, which will air on NCAA.com on Monday, May 2 at 6:30 p.m.

FAN INFORMATION:
Please stay tuned on social media and on GoPack.com for more information this week regarding match attendance and parking.

ABOUT THE PACK:
The selection marks NC State's 12th overall NCAA Championships berth and is its sixth season in a row qualifying for the postseason even under the leadership of head coach Simon Earnshaw. The Wolfpack continues to add to its program-best NCAA Championships streak.

NC State heads into tournament action having spent the entire 2022 dual match campaign ranked in the national top eight. The team reached a program-best No. 2 for six weeks in February and March and has been in the national top 15 of every rankings release since Feb. 26, 2019.

The Wolfpack has played one of the toughest schedules in the nation to date, having faced 13 opponents ranked in the national top 25. The squad beat eight top-25 opponents ahead of NCAA Championships play, including an early-season victory over No. 3 Georgia that tied the program mark for highest ranked win.

NC State has hit a multitude of historic milestones already in 2022. The team's 23 wins this season ranks second in program history behind 24 set in 2019. The Wolfpack started the season with a 10-0 record (the best season-opening mark in team history), reached the ITA National Team Indoor semifinal for the first time ever and started ACC play 7-0 (also a program best).

Last season, the Wolfpack reached the 2021 NCAA Final Four to mark the best postseason run in the team's 45-year history. Prior to the 2021 dual match campaign, NC State had never advanced past the Round of 16. The Wolfpack has earned back-to-back Sweet Sixteen appearances (2019 and 2021) after having hosted the opening rounds of the tournament in both of those seasons.

UP NEXT:
First and second round NCAA Championships matches will be held at campus sites across the nation over the weekend. The Sweet Sixteen will also be played at campus sites, with the hosts for the eight super regionals to be selected following the conclusion of second-round action. Teams that advance to the Elite Eight will meet at the Khan Outdoor Tennis Complex in Urbana, Ill., to finish out the tournament beginning on May 20.

The singles and doubles championships will also be played in Illinois from May 23-28 following the conclusion of team competition. The individual qualifiers for those brackets are set to be released Tuesday.
