I'll give the interim Chancellor credit by putting the American Flag back up.

Anti-Israel protesters at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill briefly took down the American flag and hoisted the Palestinian during demonstrations on campus Tuesday.

UNC Chapel Hill's Students for Justice in Palestine boasted on Instagram that the group had "removed the American flag from the center of Polk Place and replaced it with a Palestinian Flag."

Per reporting from the university newspaper, the Daily Tar Heel, protesters formed a circle around the flag pole, locking arms as counter protesters stared them down on the steps of South Building.

Anti-Israel protesters could be heard chanting: "Intifada" and "Free Palestine."

Interim Chancellor Lee Roberts later led a team of law enforcement officers who took down the Palestinian flag and replaced it with the Stars and Stripes.

A crowd could be heard chanting "USA" and singing the National Anthem. As Roberts held a press conference, protesters took down the U.S. flag a second time

Per the Daily Tar Heel, more than a dozen people carried the flag off of Polk Place, prompting jeers and shouts of "shame" from the anti-Israel crowd.

Classes were later canceled for the remainder of Tuesday due to "adverse conditions."
I just watched this report on Spectrum News. Just so stupid...

There's nothing wrong today with kids that bringing back public whipping couldn't cure.

What was the date, Oct 17th, 2023? Hamas is able to attack and kill so many Israelis.....coming across what's known to be the most secure border in the entire world?

Lawsuit dropped yesterday I believe against amp and nsjp for being the propaganda arms for hamas in the us. These are the groups that have been behind all the student riots and crap at colleges the last couple of weeks. Wonder if the feds will use this lawsuit to charge anyone for providing aid and comfort to hamas.

So Hamas fires rockets today at one of the few points aid can get into Gaza. Color me shocked, Hamas doesn't want this to end.

I'm afraid Hamzah is right, this IDF soldier needs to be brought up on charges if he's only killed 20. It should have been much more. Is he showing restraint? Is he hiding behind others and not carrying out his duty to exterminate the enemy. Perhaps it's cowardice. After all this time his kill count should be in the 100s.

So Hamas was hijacking aid being sent into Gaza and people want to think they're the good guys. The US has spent $320 million to build a floating pier off the coast of the Gaza to funnel as much as 500 tons of aid into Gaza within days and Hamas attacked the workers with mortar attacks and people want to think they're the good guys. The Israeli IDF was assisting in trying to protect the floating pier that would provide humanitarian aid to their attackers but people want to think Hamas are the good guys. It takes a special kind of stupid to think Hamas are the good guys

Don't forget Hamas bombing the one of a few points of entry a couple of weeks back killing some Israeli soldiers. It's backwards for sure.

I haven't see anyone claim that Hamas are the good guys. Maybe I've missed something.

I have see a ton of claims that peace protestors are pro Hamas, but that's obviously a thinly veiled attempt to demonize people with a contrary view to the situation Israel.

I haven't either. What I will say that some folks are making Israel out as the bad guys and are now ignoring what Hamas is continuing to do over there.

I think the mistake comes from viewing Israel and Palestine as monoliths. The guilt/blame for the actions of governments (Hamas or Netanyahu's) shouldn't be universally applied to the citizens.

We want to boil these discussions down to good vs bad, us vs them, but reality is more complex than that. The kids in Rafah didn't attack Israel, and wanting them safe shouldn't be viewed as "pro Hamas".

Agree with you on this one. Mossad and the Israeli Govt are greater evil then the US's federal govt leadership.

Don't for one minute believe that HAMAS breached the most secure fencing on the face of the globe so easily. Was Ron Paul correct when he stated many years ago that the Israeli GOVT controls HAMAS' leadership?

Nobody wants to see senseless deaths. But for whatever reason Israel is getting heat by defending themselves and wanting to end a group that wants them gone. War sucks, Hamas has put their people in a bad position and I'd like to see more people call this out.
