I haven't been following this closely, but you should be extremely suspicious of any claims surrounding this, especially claims of extreme atrocities such as "beheading babies" and "slitting the throats of babies".

I immediately thought of the now-admitted lies about "Saddam Hussein's Iraqi troops throwing babies out of incubators" in Kuwait. These sort of deliberate lies of "extreme atrocities" are a tried and true propaganda tactic used to start and escalate wars.
