Nothing changed. Numerous studies going back decades had proven that masks were ineffective. Then, suddenly, around April or May, they came out with a few bogus "studies" that claimed that now masks "were effective" at preventing the spread of disease.

In reality, masks are not effective at all. And as packgrad pointed out, it's political. Forcing you to wear a mask is about power and control. It's about conditioning people to accept draconian measures.

The idea that these communist politicians (who champion the murder of unborn children) are doing all of this because they are such "humanitarians" and "care so much about human life" is absolutely laughable. These people are totalitarians. They care nothing about human life. They are not doing this because they care about you or your family, or grandma. I've addressed this here a few months ago. The reason that doctors initially started wearing a mask was for SURGERY only. It was worn by surgeons, to prevent some of their spittle from getting into an open wound while operating on someone. The use of masks by doctors was never intended (or able) to prevent the spread of an airborne virus.

A virus is microscopic (or nano-scopic). A cloth bandana over your face is doing NOTHING to prevent the transmittal of such small particles through the air. Those particles are going right through the openings in the fabric.

And there is why you were wrong.

Masks are to prevent spray from your mouth in your nose, which is where the virus is, from getting anywhere besides the other side of the Mask. That's how the virus spreads primarily. It is not just some little bug floating around in the air that you breathe out of your lungs that goes right through the mask.

The studies weren't powered to determine whether or not the vaccine stopped virus from getting in your nose or stopped you from shedding virus that got there. It did, however, have a 90+ % effectiveness at stopping the disease (kept people from getting sick from it). And if davie's meta analysis is correct, even if people get asymptomatic infections then we will likely stop transmission and therefore end this mess. But we can't know that yet, even if we can predict that the vaccine will have a solid chance of stopping infection and transmission. Just can't say it yet.

You can personally choose whether or not you want to get the vaccine. But to come here and tell people to beware a vaccine about which you have an extremely poor understanding is unreasonable. You know nothing about the studies, how the vaccine works, what potential toxins it may have, what the adverse events were, the incidence of adverse events, the sequelae of adverse events, how effectiveness was defined, what the results mean, or anything else one can name. How can you act the expert when you can't correctly answer one question about it or logically interpret one bit of data presented? You make the false claims when you know absolutely nothing about which you speak. And somebody had the balls to suggest we should do our due diligence? It's simply mind boggling.

Masks were never meant to be impenetrable barriers that would end all transmission. To expect them to and then act surprised or angry or disappointed when they don't is intellectually disingenuous. I've posted several times in just the last few days about the toxic ingredients that are included in vaccines, in general -- including aluminum, mercury, and formaldehyde. Aluminum and mercury are neurotoxins that are causing autism, and other neurological disorders. And eczema and other immune response disorders are being caused by these toxic ingredients.

And I explained that Bell's Palsy is just one small example of the harm done by the vaccines. When you consider all of the other harmful effects (autism, eczema, other immune response disorders), you're talking about a HUGE percentage of people being negatively impacted by vaccines. Research is also linking many types of cancers to the toxic ingredients in the vaccines. And there are many other diseases which I'm not just thinking of off the top of my head that are also most likely linked to vaccines -- such as Crohn's disease and other illnesses that have skyrocketed in frequency in recent years.

What makes you so confident that this "covid" vaccine is even going to work? The vaccine for the flu hardly ever works. It is notoriously ineffective. They've tried to make vaccines for other types of coronaviruses (including the common cold) over the past several decades, and have been unsuccessful, even by their bogus standards of "effectiveness". But we are to believe that the vaunted "scientists" really have it together this time, and are going to create a vaccine that is "95% effective" for "covid-19" in just a few short months? Please.

Vaccines are not necessary to prevent disease. They cause much more harm, than good. The best defense against disease is to keep your body and immune system healthy and strong. God already gave us an IMMUNE system. I don't think he expected us to have to inject our veins with strange concoctions of dna, dead viruses, and other toxins in order to "be healthy".

I don't think skepticism is unreasonable. I'd further argue that mask mandates are an unacceptable violation of Constitutional rights, and I opine that Americans shouldn't have to cave on their God-given rights just because the Center for Disease Control can't seem to live up to its name.

I'm essence i absolutely agree with you. I have skepticism about so much of this. But there's a difference between questioning, lack of true understanding, lack of sufficient data, or skepticism and decreeing "MASKS DON'T WORK" or "THE VACCINE DOESN'T WORK! "

Skepticism in the face of all this is completely reasonable, especially when one shows the open mindedness to digest and comprehend data without jumping to irrational dogmatic conclusions that aren't supported by the data.

I've never supported a mask mandate. I don't support mandated vaccination. But i think there's some misinformation being posted here, so i offer what apolitical insight i feel i can.

Too often we let our opinions be shaped by fear, politics, prejudice or ignorance.

Regarding mask, I've spoken to as many physicians saying they don't work as saying they do work. So, I guess I can take only they ones I agree with as fact. Logic tells me that the efficacy of mask is on the low side.

That being said, here is where I fall on the argument/debate:

• I disagree with a mandate from government on this
• If a "Private" business or "Public" building requires them, then that's their prerogative - we should all give difference to them
• In my own personal property, I set the rules, no one else - either follow my rules or make your own choice about being on my property

If all of us would have a similar position, we wouldn't be arguing so much.

Don't you think the answer to the question you ask the different doctors is highly dependent upon how each one defines "work?"

If you ask a general question, "do masks work?" You should expect variable answers. If you ask specific questions, "how do masks work?" "Do they reduce droplets?" "Do they reduce aerosols? " " Do they reduce transmission? " Do they stop infections?" "Do they reduce the severity of disease?" Etc then you get specific answers based on their current understanding of the data/disease.

Don't you think the question was asked properly? Don't you think these physicians were clear on the context? Don't you think others, on this board, have common sense? Don't you think... Don't you think...

Your response is ridiculous (my opinion) and comes off as being the smartest person in the room. Typically, the smartest person in a room will allow for other considerations...
