NC State baseball’s season will continue this weeked in the NCAA regional round. After falling just short in a 1-0 loss to Duke in the ACC Championship Game, the Wolfpack will look to advance to a Super Regional for the first time since 2013 by winning the Ruston, Louisana Regional, hosted by Louisiana Tech.
After starting the regular season 1-8 and then finishing 24-6 and making it the conference title game, the Pack will be the 2-seed in this regional behind 1-seed Louisiana Tech. The Wolfpack will start things off against 3-seed Alabama Friday at 3 p.m. on ESPN3. 4-seed Rider rounds out the group.
Alabama went 31-24 overall this year and finished 11th in a loaded SEC. Louisana Tech went 40-18 and fell to Old Dominion in the Conference USA Championship game. Rider finished 23-16 but won the MAAC Tournament.
The winner of this regional would face the winner of the Fayetteville, Araknas Regional, hosted by No. 1 overall seed Arkansas, in the Super Regional round.
Stay tuned to IPS for much more on NC State’s upcoming matchups in this regional.

They prolly shouldn't throw this pitcher in the super regional either but they will
In the unconventional sense, yes.
Hasn't started a game all season but has 11 (bout to be 12) wins and 11 saves on the season.

170 pitches in 4 days. This dude is the reason they win. Without him they're mediocre. Break Kopps... and you break Arkansas. At least their coaching staff is helping with the first part.

Rooting interest aside, that should be criminal. There's a lot more that goes into other than just pitch count, but there's no way that much usage is good for you. Getting stretched out every now and then is one thing, so is throwing on short rest every now and then, but this is something else.
Haha, I just looked his Twitter up before you posted bc I knew it would be goodCLTWolf said:wilmwolf80 said:

Keith Law is close to stroking out on the tweeters.
Need to take Scott's BBQ Sauce with us by the gallons. Show them exactly what a pig pickin is really all about.DrummerboyWolf said:
Alright we are going to Fayetteville. Just not the right one.
It's going to be tough, but we have been great on the road. If our pitching can keep us in the game, then I think we will score more than two runs against them. Should be a good series.
GO PACK!
I think the worst thing about the situation is that it was over 3 games. That includes throwing and warming in the pen with no idea exactly when you will be used. Regardless of what Ark says, that dude is gonna be super sore this weekendwilmwolf80 said:Wolfpack said:Wolfpack said:

Obviously the big issue is that it limits the window of opportunity you have to score. For example, if La Tech had a Kopps we probably lose that game Sun bc he comes in and shuts it down once they get a lead. It will be important for us to score runs early in each gameEthanBarry said:
Obviously the overuse is one thing, but Arkansas gave up 16 runs in the 23 innings Kopps didn't throw this weekend, and State is better than those offenses. Get ahead and it doesn't matter how good he is.
Wicklander, who is their one starter, gave up 1 in 5 innings.

Since Wilber of Wilber's BBQ in Goldsboro passed away just a few weeks ago, a hickory smoked pig pick'n would be very fitting. Mr. Shirley was a HUGE Wolfpacker and def(EATING) the Hogs to get to Omaha would indeed be a great way to honor Wilber! May he rest in peace!Bell Tower Grey said:Need to take Scott's BBQ Sauce with us by the gallons. Show them exactly what a pig pickin is really all about.DrummerboyWolf said:

I respect throwing it back too. Who wants the other team's grand slam? Not me.
