NC State baseball headed to Louisana for NCAA Regional

The Wolfpack will be the 2-seed in Ruston and face 3-seed Alabama Friday.

NC State baseball’s season will continue this weeked in the NCAA regional round. After falling just short in a 1-0 loss to Duke in the ACC Championship Game, the Wolfpack will look to advance to a Super Regional for the first time since 2013 by winning the Ruston, Louisana Regional, hosted by Louisiana Tech.

After starting the regular season 1-8 and then finishing 24-6 and making it the conference title game, the Pack will be the 2-seed in this regional behind 1-seed Louisiana Tech. The Wolfpack will start things off against 3-seed Alabama Friday at 3 p.m. on ESPN3. 4-seed Rider rounds out the group. 

Alabama went 31-24 overall this year and finished 11th in a loaded SEC. Louisana Tech went 40-18 and fell to Old Dominion in the Conference USA Championship game. Rider finished 23-16 but won the MAAC Tournament. 

The winner of this regional would face the winner of the Fayetteville, Araknas Regional, hosted by No. 1 overall seed Arkansas, in the Super Regional round.

I am still upset they were even in the tournament....should have been Pitt over them.

I can't believe Pitt wasn't included in the field.

As we all know you leave yourself open to judgment calls if you're one of the last at-large teams in, but I thought they clearly deserved to be in.

no
one of the 16 Regional sites that is not hosting a Super Regional will host.

best case for NC State would be to have Virginia beat Old Dominion today and NC State and Nebraska Super Regional could be in Greenville, NC since East Carolina's Super Regional will be in Nashville vs Vanderbilt.

Could also be in Columbia, SC

Seriously. Not like it's an issue for one of these schools to host a weekend series. They've done it all season. Conditions with the pandemic changed, as well as guidelines--- NCAA should be flexible as well

Looks like he threw 64 pitches so he's prolly close to done since he's at 58 now.
