22nd-ranked NC State men's tennis opens its 2025 season by hosting a doubleheader with in-state competition Campbell and NC Central. The matches are set for 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., respectively, at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center in Raleigh.

All tennis matches are played at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center on NC State's campus in Raleigh and are free of charge for fans to attends - this weekend's matches are set to be played indoors.

Start times for the matches are set for 11 a.m. (vs. Campbell) and 4 p.m. (vs. NC Central).

22nd-ranked NC State men's tennis opened its 2025 spring campaign with a doubleheader sweep over in-state opponents Campbell and NC Central on Saturday.

The victory over Campbell to start the day made the Pack 7-0 in winning season premiere matches with head coach Kyle Spencer at the helm of the program.

NC State claimed the doubles point in both matches to give a one point advantage moving into singles play in the morning and the evening. The red-and-white displayed their dominance by collecting all 14 singles matches of the day in just two straight sets, not allowing other opposing team to take them to a third.

A fresh face in the program, Noah Gabriel, a freshman from the Netherlands, made his official dual-match debut with the Pack. Playing doubles on court three for both matches, he walked away with a win and a 5-2 lead while play was clinched. In singles, he competed on court six taking both matches in straight sets.

Not new to the program, but new to the lineup are redshirt-freshmen Jules Leroux and William Manning, who played a huge part in the Wolfpack's double wins for the day in both doubles and singles. Leroux took his singles victories in straight sets, while Manning fought through a second set tiebreaker to defeat his Campbell opponent earlier in the day.

After an exciting fall campaign, upperclassmen Braden Shick, Luca Staeheli, Fons Van Sambeek, and Martin Borisiouk each showed their growth by securing victories in both doubles and singles in a commanding fashion. Now 17th-ranked Shick, 26th-ranked Borisiouk, 97th-ranked Staeheli, as well as the 102nd-ranked pair Shick and Van Sambeek, aided their teammates to take care of business in the start of their spring slate.

NC State stays home to face 21st-ranked Harvard this upcoming Tuesday, January 21, at 4 p.m. in the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center. The first 50 fans in attendance will be eligible to claim a free t-shirt as well as free Chick-Fil-A desserts available to all while supplies last.

22nd-ranked NC State men's tennis fell to 21st-ranked Harvard by a 2-5 decision on Tuesday evening.

Highlighted by a ranked match-up on court one, all three doubles courts featured tight battles that were forced to be played out. Harvard took court three first by a 6-2 win, followed by Jules Leroux and Luca Staeheli pairing up on court two for a 6-3 win to even out the field. On court one, ranked duo Braden Shick and Fons Van Sambeek trailed their match attempting to come back to clinch the point over their 71st-ranked opponents but ultimately fell by a 6-4 decision.

With a 1-0 edge moving into singles, the Crimson went on to claim four singles courts to clinch their 5-2 win.

Leroux and Staeheli recorded the only wins of the day for the Pack, racking up their doubles win together as well as individual singles victories. Staeheli dominated on court three putting the first point on the board for the Pack by running through straight sets and only dropping one game. Leroux fought through a first set tiebreaker that carried his momentum to take the second set as well for the second team point.

Fons Van Sambeek, Martin Borisiouk, and William Manning each fought valiantly on their courts in singles, with Manning's match closing out the night coming down to the wire at the very end.

Up Next
The Pack travels to Mississippi State for the annual ITA Kickoff tournament. The team is set to compete against LSU on Saturday, January 25 and will play either Pepperdine or 11th-ranked Mississippi State on Sunday, January 26.

22nd-ranked NC State men's tennis hits the road for the first time this season to participate in the annual ITA Kickoff tournament. The Pack, in addition to LSU and Pepperdine, will be hosted by Mississippi State in Starkville, Miss.
