Very narrow and tough 3-4 loss in the ACC Tournament quarters, but Duke is a good team. #4 and #5 singles were close 3-set matches that we lost, but could have easily won. And the doubles point was close also and could have gone our way.

I went to the match. This is obvious for those who follow tennis on any level, but tennis is such a BATTLE, especially the men's. Almost every point is a slug fest, and takes so much effort to win. And these guys at the high-level D1 programs are extremely skilled. It's amazing to witness in person how good these guys are, and what it takes to win even one point.

This team can absolutely make the Elite Eight or Final Four in the NCAA tournament. Based on our latest team ranking of #8, we are hanging on as one of the 8 teams that would get to host a super-regional (round of 16 match), which would obviously give us a significant advantage in our hopes to make the Elite Eight.

Of course we get shafted. We were #8 in the latest rankings, and they seed as #9 which is a HUGE deal because only the top 8 seeds are guaranteed to host the Super Regional (Sweet Sixteen round).

Reminder that we are hosting (at our home courts on campus, located directly across from the baseball stadium) for both the men's and women's for the 1st and 2nd rounds of the NCAA tournament, and that the men's 1st round match in the NCAA tournament (against South Carolina State) is at home tomorrow, Saturday at 2:00 pm.

The women's 2nd round match follows that at 5:00pm, so that's a double header of NCAA tournament tennis tomorrow. As of right now, the weather forecast for tomorrow looks good with highs in the mid 80s and no chance of rain.

The women's 1st round match in the NCAA tournament (against Charleston Southern) is at home today at 4:00 pm.

Don't know why, but our #1 singles player, Braden Shick, did not play today. I was at the match and did not see Shick anywhere…didn't warm up, wasn't with teammates on the sidelines.

If they don't have him against Georgia tomorrow, going to make coming away with a win much more difficult.
