Katelyn Tuohy will be running the SoundRunning Track Fest in Los Angeles on May 6th in the 5K. Its a pretty stacked field and Alicia Monson stated on a podcast that she is going to be pacing Josette Andrews in this event. While its unclear what time goal they have it will certainly be under the 14:57 Worlds Standard which would also be a pace to get Tuohy the Collegiate record.

^ I hope Tuohy (and the team) runs the 4x1500 at Penn Relays the week prior to this 5k in LA. Seems they have a real decent chance to set the collegiate record in that event - with Tuohy, Tyynismaa, Bush, and Shaw.

I feel like that was always the plan, but that would also have her racing 3 straigh weeks including ACC's the following weekend in May. So who knows at this point.

NC State picked up its second commitment for the class of 2024 from in-state recruit Justine Preisano from Cuthbertson High.

She has PB's of 2:12 in the 800, 4:55 in the mile, 10:41 in the 3200 and 2:54 in the 1000 indoors. She finished 6th at the 4A XC State meet this past fall and was part of the Cuthbertson team that qualified for Nike Team xc nationals and set a national 4x800 record this past indoor season.

Looks like Tuohy will be opening up her season with either a 1500 or 5k this weekend at Wake Forest. Most of the women's team is going to be running in either the 1500 or 5k (most are entered in both at this point). Im assuming that it will be the 1500 considering she has a big 5k in two weeks already on the schedule.

Also, disappointingly it doesn't seem that the women are going to be chasing a 4x1500 or DMR time this year at Penn Relays. Entries are starting to pop up and nothing is listed for us having any women's relays entered despite having other entries already listed

Yeah, that's a real bummer. Would be very cool to see them win the 4x1500 and possibly set the collegiate record in that event.

outside of the Tuohy performance there were a bunch of new PB's for the women at Wake Forest

1500m
Grace Hartman 4:18.33 (can't overstate how impressive she has been in her true freshman season)
Marlee Starliper 4:20.13
Jenna Schulz 4:28.61

5000
Amaris Tyynismaa 15:30.37
Shannon Sefton 16:51

A number of other women ran well and got likely qualifiers for Regionals, they just weren't PB's.

pretty disappointing day for the NC State women at Penn Relays. The 4 distance runners were scheduled to go tonight in the 1500/5000. Grace Hartman didn't start the 1500 and Savannah Shaw didn't start the 5k immediately dropping us to 2 competing runners. Sydney Seymour dropped out less than halfway through the 5k and was on a pretty poor pace when she did.

The only positive from today is that Jenna Schulz set a big new PB in the 5k, dropping her PB from 16:22 to 16:09. Also, future NC State transfer Abby Loveys (currently at Princeton) accomplished a similar feat as Schulz, dropping her PB from 16:22 to 16:05.

Incoming recruit Angelina Napoleon wins the high school girls Mile championship at the Penn Relays. She ran an impressive 4:49.36 in miserable conditions as its in the 40's and pouring rain right now at the Track in Philly.

Fellow incoming recruit Kate Putman led much of the race but faded a bit to 4th in a 4:53. Both times are off their bests but given the conditions are still very good and still an impressive win for Napoleon over a strong HS field.
