NC State volleyball overcame a slow start to comeback and defeat Georgia, 3-1 (16-25, 31-29, 25-22, 25-23) in the ACC/SEC Challenge on Thursday night inside of Reynolds Coliseum.

The Pack was able to win the final three sets in thriller fashion to extend its win streak to four games improving to a 6-4 overall record, winning seven of its last eight sets played.

Junior Jade Parchment was on a mission as she tallied her team-best fourth double-double of the year as she posted a game- and season-high 23 kills while hitting .356 and 13 digs. Graduate student Melissa Evans recorded her ninth double-digit kill game of the season, racking up 14 kills to go along with a game-high 14 digs.

Freshman Maggie Jones stepped up in the match as she tallied 50 assists with two service aces and four digs. Both graduate student Kaylee Frazier and junior Hannah Wander helped out on the defensive end as they each had 11 digs.

Set One (NC State 16, Georgia 25)
The first set was all Bulldogs (4-6) as they held NC State to a negative hitting percentage while racking up 11 kills in the set. The Pack stuck with Georgia early and tried making a late run as it trailed 14-16 but the Bulldogs reeled off a 9-2 run to take the first set.

Set Two (NC State 31, Georgia 29)
The second set was a fight as there were 10 ties and four lead changes. Trailing 14-22, NC State went on a 5-0 run to bring the score to 19-22 forcing Georgia to call a timeout. After a couple back and forth points, the Bulldogs were at set point (24-20) before the Pack gained all the momentum with a 4-0 run to force a win-by-two situation. NC State was finally able to win back-to-back points for the set off a kill by Parchment and a Georgia error.

Set Three (NC State 25, Georgia 22)
The third set was similar to the second set as neither team could hold a lead for more than a few points as there were 10 ties including three ties after the 15-point mark. The final tie came at 22 before NC State used a Bulldog error, a crowd-roaring block from sophomore Riley Shaak and a kill from Parchment to take a 2-1 lead.

Set Four (NC State 25, Georgia 23)
Once again, both teams played tight as the largest score gap was three points. Knotted at 21, NC State recorded back-to-back kills that made all 836 fans in attendance get on their feet and force Georgia to call its final timeout. The Bulldogs tried to fight back, getting a crucial kill to make it 24-23 but Parchment stepped up and delivered the final kill to complete the victory.

NC State was able to hold off a fierce Virginia squad as it earned a 3-1 (27-25, 14-25, 25-21, 25-20) victory in Atlantic Coast Conference volleyball action inside of Reynolds Coliseum on Friday night.

The Wolfpack (7-5, 1-0 ACC) held the Cavaliers (7-4, 0-1 ACC) to a .131 hitting percentage on the night as NC State improved to 3-0 against Virginia under head coach Luka Slabe.

Junior Jade Parchment led the way for the Pack as she recorded her fifth double-double of the season in a game-best 18 kills (.229) and 10 digs alongside two blocks. Graduate student Melissa Evans added 11 kills.

Junior Kristen McDaniel posted a solid performance with a match-high 42 assists to go along with a season-high tying three kills and 10 digs. Defensively, libero Kaylee Frazier tallied a game-high 21 digs while freshman Jada Allen posted a season-high tying six blocks.

Set One (NC State 27, Virginia 25)
The Pack was cruising throughout the set as it took the early lead and never looked back. Virginia made a push at the end by going on a 3-0 run to knot the score at 24. NC State was able to claim the set off a Virginia error and a kill from freshman Amanda Rice. Parchment had six kills in the set, the most by any player.

Set Two (NC State 14, Virginia 25)
NC State could not find a consistent rhythm in the set as the team posted nine kills and nine errors. The Cavaliers used NC State's errors to their advantage to gain enough momentum to hit .261 and only needed eight kills to tie the game at 1-all.

Set Three (NC State 25, Virginia 21)
After the intermission, NC State found life and hammered down on the Cavaliers as the Pack began the set on a 5-0 run and did not allow Virginia to tie the score. Rice played a crucial role in keeping the momentum in the set as she recorded her third service ace of the day and secured three kills in four swings.

Set Four (NC State 25, Virginia 20)
The final set was a hard-fought battle as there were 10 ties and three lead changes. In the previous three sets there were only five ties and three lead changes combined. The final tie came at 19 forcing NC State to call its final timeout. Coming out of the break, Allen and McDaniel teamed up for a fierce block that made all 917 fans in attendance get on their feet. Allen put the team on her back, recording three straight kills before Parchment posted the game-winning kill.

NC State was unable to find a consistent rhythm to stop hot-handed Florida State and dropped a 3-1 (16-25, 26-24, 12-25, 21-25) decision in Atlantic Coast Conference volleyball action inside of Tully Gymnasium on Friday night.

The Wolfpack (7-7, 1-2 ACC) fought back to tie the score at one after two sets but the Seminoles (9-3, 2-1) used their early momentum and crowd support to hold off the Pack from grabbing another set.

Graduate student Melissa Evans led the way offensively with a game-best 18 kills, only recording six errors for a .324 hitting percentage to go along with four digs. Junior Kristen McDaniel nearly recorded a double-double with 27 assists and nine digs.

Senior Jade Parchment also played around a double-double as she recorded nine kills and nine digs. Graduate student Kaylee Frazier led the defense with 10 digs while sophomore Riley Shaak posted a team-high three blocks.

In the third set of the match, Parchment recorded her eighth kill of the game to allow her to eclipse 1,000 career kills and become the 12th player in program history to reach that threshold.

Set One (NC State 16, Florida State 25)
The first set was a battle early as neither team could gain more than a three-point lead before the 10th point. Leading 12-10, FSU reeled off a 4-0 run before going on an 8-1 run at 18-13 to create enough momentum to grab set one.

Set Two (NC State 26, Florida State 24)
Similar to the first set, the second set was a hard-fought affair as there were nine ties and seven lead changes. What looked as if NC State was going to run away with the set after diminishing the crowd noise off a service ace from McDaniel to take a 23-22 lead, the Seminoles quickly regained all energy getting back-to-back kills for set point. Parchment answered with a kill before Evans racked up her 10th kill of the set to force set point for the Pack. Shaak and junior Taylor Rowland brought it home with a solid block to even the score at 1-all.

Set Three (NC State 12, Florida State 25)
The third set was all Florida State's as the Seminoles jumped out to a quick 7-1 lead and never looked back. The Pack was unable to slow down FSU as it hit .667 in the set with 13 kills and only one error. NC State recorded more attacks but were only successful nine times while committing seven errors.

Set Four (NC State 21, Florida State 25)
The fourth set was close early on as the Pack stuck with FSU for the first half of the set but the Seminoles reeled off multiple mini runs to hold off all opportunities of forcing a fifth set. The Pack showed a lot of grit as the team recorded 13 kills in the set but FSU tallied 17 to walk away victorious.
