NC State was nearly unstoppable on Friday night as it cruised past Virginia Tech, 3-0 (25-14, 25-12, 25-19) in Atlantic Coast Conference volleyball action inside of Reynolds Coliseum.

The Wolfpack (8-8, 2-3 ACC) hit .300 in the match, nearly recording three times as many kills as the Hokies (9-8, 0-5 ACC) while limiting Virginia Tech to a -.021 hitting percentage. With the win, the Pack increased its win streak against the Hokies to eight games, winning the last 10 consecutive sets.

Graduate student Melissa Evans led the charge for the Wolfpack as she recorded a match-high 12 kills on a blistering .375 hitting percentage. This is the third consecutive match that Evans has led both teams in kills.

Freshman Amanda Rice recorded her first career double-digit kill outing as she racked up 10 kills on .278 hitting clip while sophomore Riley Shaak registered four kills on an errorless seven swings as the middle to go along with a team-best five blocks including three solos.

Defensively, junior Taylor Rowland led the charge with 14 digs while senior Jade Parchment and graduate student Kaylee Frazier followed behind with 13 and 11 digs, respectively.

Set One (NC State 25, Virginia Tech 14)
The game started in a back and forth affair as all four ties in the set came by point four. Tied at 4-4, NC State reeled off a 3-0 run to gain enough momentum to hold off the Hokies to claim the first set. The Pack hit .361 in the set and only allowed five kills from Virginia Tech. Evans hit .500 with six kills and a block.

Set Two (NC State 25, Virginia Tech 12)
The Pack controlled all the momentum in this set as the team recorded 15 kills with only one error for a thunderous .438 hitting percentage. Four Wolfpack players registered at least three kills in the set with Evans knocking down four kills on eight errorless swings. Despite only getting 12 points, the Hokies slammed eight kills which is the most out of any set for the team in the match.

Set Three (NC State 25, Virginia Tech 19)
The Wolfpack carried its momentum from the first two sets to the final set as the defense stepped up tremendously, holding Virginia Tech to only three kills with eight errors for a -.179 hitting percentage. The offense wasn't as powerful as the first two sets but NC State grabbed 12 kills which was enough to walk away with the victory.

NC State grinded out a hard-fought, 3-1 (23-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-21) victory over Syracuse on Friday afternoon in Atlantic Coast Conference volleyball action at Women's Gymnasium.

The Pack (10-8, 4-3 ACC) hit .319 with 65 kills in the match, marking season highs in both categories in a four-set match. The win extended NC State's win streak to three games, having won nine out of the last 10 sets played.

Senior Jade Parchment led the charge for the Wolfpack as she recorded a match-high 19 kills on a thunderous .378 hitting percentage alongside six digs. Junior Taylor Rowland added her fourth double-double of the season with 18 kills (ties season high) and 10 digs.

Graduate student Melissa Evans added 11 kills on .381 hitting. Junior Kristen McDaniel controlled the offense with 32 assists while graduate student Kaylee Frazier paced the defense with a game-best 15 digs, her fifth consecutive match with double-digit digs.

Set One (NC State 23, Syracuse 25)
Both teams came prepared to fight in the first set as there were nine ties and five lead changes. The biggest lead throughout the set was a three-point lead as neither team gave much breathing room. The final tie came at 17 before the Orange (14-5, 3-4 ACC) went on a quick 2-0 run that created enough space to take the first set. Both offenses were dominant as Cuse hit .412 while NC State recorded a .424 hitting clip.

Set Two (NC State 25, Syracuse 22)
NC State controlled most of the momentum early in the set as the team reeled off a 5-0 run to take a commanding 11-6 lead. Syracuse answered with a 6-1 run to tie the score at 12. The Pack was able to regain the lead but the Orange did not let up, coming back to tie the score at 20. The Wolfpack forced a couple of Syracuse errors and Evans recorded the set-sealing kill to tie the match at 1-all.

Set Three (NC State 25, Syracuse 17)
The third set was all NC State as the Pack jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead that turned into a comfortable 11-3 lead that it would not relinquish. NC State shut down any hopes of Syracuse taking a lead as the defense recorded 15 digs in the set to hold the Orange to .086 hitting while the offense smacked down 18 kills on a .317 hitting clip.

Set Four (NC State 25, Syracuse 21)
Early in the set was all Syracuse as it took a 3-1 lead and kept NC State at bay for the next few points. The Pack fought back and tied the score at 12 before getting back-to-back kills from Parchment and Evans that shifted the momentum to NC State, as the team took a 14-12 lead that it would not let up.

Junior Taylor Rowland of NC State volleyball has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Player of the Week as announced by the league on Tuesday afternoon.

The weekly honor marks the first ACC honor in Rowland's career. Rowland is the second member of the Wolfpack to earn a weekly conference honor this season as Jada Allen was named ACC Co-Freshman of the Week on Sept. 14.

The outside hitter stuffed the stat sheets all weekend as she recorded her fourth and fifth double-doubles this season. Rowland racked up 29 kills, third-most on the team with a .343 hitting percentage alongside 21 digs, three assists and a pair of blocks.

In the match against Syracuse, she posted 18 kills, tying her season high, on a blistering .368 hitting clip with 10 digs. The Charlotte native followed that performance with 11 kills (.310), a match-best 11 digs and two blocks in the win against Boston College on Sunday.

NC State could not find a consistent rhythm and dropped a 3-1 (11-25, 25-22, 12-25, 22-25) decision to North Carolina in Atlantic Coast Conference volleyball action on Wednesday night in Carmichael Arena.

The Wolfpack (11-9, 5-4 ACC) had three players record double-digit kills but the Tar Heels (16-4, 5-4 ACC) offense was too much to handle on the road.

Graduate student Melissa Evans led the charge for NC State with 13 kills while senior Jade Parchment followed behind with 12 kills on .324 hitting. Junior Taylor Rowland added 10 kills, seven digs and a pair of blocks.

Junior Kristen McDaniel posted her fifth double-double of the season with 22 assists and a team-high 14 digs. Graduate student Kaylee Frazier served as our libero and recorded 11 digs.

Set One (NC State 11, North Carolina 25)
The Pack started off slow and never picked up its momentum in the set. UNC jumped out to an early 9-0 run, forcing NC State to use both of its timeouts early and never let up.

Set Two (NC State 25, North Carolina 22)
Neither team dominated this set as there were 11 ties and six lead changes. The final tie came at 20-all when NC State called a timeout the recorded back-to-back kills that created enough momentum to hold off UNC and tie the match at one. The Pack held UNC to a .000 hitting percentage in the set.

Set Three (NC State 12, North Carolina 25)
North Carolina came out of the break on fire as the Tar Heels hit .606 in the set while limiting the Pack to only nine kills. The Wolfpack tried to stay close but UNC reeled off an 8-2 run that diminished all hopes of NC State gaining a lead.

Set Four (NC State 22, North Carolina 25)
The final set was a battle all the way through as there were 16 ties and five lead changes. Neither team was able to gain a lead of more than two points until the end. Trailing 19-21, Evans subbed in and immediately recorded a kill and a bad set by UNC allowed the Pack to tie the score at 21. Carolina answered with a kill that got the crowd on their feet, giving UNC enough momentum to claim the final set.
