NC State women's tennis came away with the win in its third top-25 matchup of the season on Saturday afternoon as the 12th-ranked Wolfpack (5-1) defeated No. 21 Tennessee (5-2) 6-1 inside the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center.

With the victory, the Pack remained a perfect 3-0 in matches against ranked opponents this season and extended its current dual winning streak to four contests.

The doubles point came down to the final court, but the Wolfpack once again came out on top and picked up victories on courts one and two. Anna Rogers and Alana Smith went up a break to start the match on their way to cruising to the 6-2 decision over Tenika McGiffin and Eleonora Molinaro.

The Volunteers came away with the 6-3 win on court three to put the doubles decision on court two. Jaeda Daniel and Adriana Reami emerged victorious in their matchup with Tennessee's Esther Adeshina and Daria Kuczer. They fought off a late surge from the Vols duo and won the last two games of the match to put the final score at 6-4.

In singles action, NC State looked solid across the board.

No. 23 Smith bounced back with a quick 6-1, 6-2 victory over No. 118 Carly Briggs of Tennessee, and No. 35 Rogers boosted her season singles record to 10-0 with a a 6-3, 6-3 win over Molinaro.

With the team score at 3-0 in favor of the Pack, it was a race between Reami and Daniel to earn the clincher. No. 38 Reami was the first to close out her match, as she gutted out a long rally with No. 52 Rebeka Mertena to win 6-4, 6-4.

Daniel followed closely behind with a 6-4, 6-4 win over her own over McGiffin.

Lexi Keberle rounded out an unbeaten weekend with a ranked win over No. 85 Johanna Silva, beating her 6-2, 6-2.

Tennessee picked up its one victory of the day on court six to end the afternoon.

Atlantic Coast Conference competition is here, and the No. 10 NC State women's tennis team (5-1) will step into league action on Saturday afternoon as it makes the short trip to take on Wake Forest (4-3). First serve from the Wake Forest Tennis Center is set for 2 p.m.

SCOUTING WAKE FOREST:
The Demon Deacons just fell out of the top 25 of the national rankings for the first time this season. The team was ranked as high as No. 16 this season. Wake Forest is 4-3 on the season and has won back-to-back matches after going on a three-game skid.

Two members of the Demon Deacon squad are ranked in singles - Carolyn Campana (No. 21) and Eliza Omirou (No. 98).

The 10th-ranked NC State women's tennis team extended its winning streak to five matches as it kicked off conference play with the breezy 7-0 win at Wake Forest on Saturday afternoon.

With the win, NC State improved to 6-1 overall and 1-0 in ACC play.

The Pack won the doubles point for the fifth match in a row and its sixth time in seven matches this season. NC State took victories on all three courts to take the 1-0 advantage into singles action.

NC State clinched the match with its first three completed singles contests, winning all of them in straight sets. No. 35 Anna Rogers built further on her unbeaten record with a 7-5, 6-1 victory over 22nd-ranked Carolyn Campana, and Jaeda Daniel beat Anna Brylin 7-5, 6-3 on court four.

Lexi Keberle clinched the match at 4-0 on court five, defeating No. 98 Eliza Omirou 6-2, 7-6 (4).

The teams played out the rest of singles, with No. 38 Adriana Reami extended the Pack's lead to 5-0 with a 6-4, 2-6, 6-0 three setter over Brooke Killingsworth.

23rd-ranked Alana Smith came back from down a set and forced a super tiebreaker for the third, ultimately beating Anna Campana 6-7 (4-7), 6-2, 1-0 (4).

Amelia Rajecki made it a perfect day for the Pack. The freshman came back from being down a set and overcame a third-set deficit to beat Casie Wooten 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (5).

The ninth-ranked NC State women's tennis team (6-1, 1-0 ACC) once again hits the road, this time for a top-10 ACC matchup against the fifth-ranked Florida State Seminoles (7-1, 2-0 ACC) on Friday afternoon. First serve from the Speicher Tennis Center is set for 4 p.m.

SCHEDULE UPDATE:
NC State was also slated to head to Miami for a Sunday match, but that match was postponed. The postponement follows positive tests, subsequent quarantining and contact tracing within the Miami women's tennis program.

SCOUTING FLORIDA STATE:
Florida State's No. 5 ranking is its highest of the season, as the Seminoles have been ranked in the top 10 the entirety of the 2021 campaign. The team is a perfect 5-0 at home this year, with its one loss coming on the road to then-No. 7 Georgia.

Two Seminole doubles pairs are ranked - Victoria Allen and Petra Hule (No. 7) and Emmanuel Salas and Giulia Pairone (No. 50). Pairone (No. 27) and Allen (No. 106) are also ranked in singles, as is No. 92 Nandini Das.
