It's been a long haul to postseason after 2020's stoppage!!
Perspective that in 2014 & 2015 @PackWTennis went 3-25 in the ACC. Since 2018 26-7 in the ACC, 60-15 overall; spent more time in the top 10 than out of it, back to back NCAA Sweet 16's and still more to come #GoPack

The sixth-ranked NC State women's tennis team is set for its second-straight NCAA Championships Round of 16 appearance as it prepares to match up against No. 35 USC on Sunday, May 16. The match is set for a 10 a.m. start time from the USTA National Campus in Lake Nona, Fla.

With a win over the Trojans, the Wolfpack would advance to its first-ever quarterfinals berth at the national tournament where it would face either No. 3 Georgia or No. 13 Virginia on Wednesday.

SCOUTING USC:
The Trojans are 13-10 in 2021 dual matches, and they earned their berth in the Round of 16 with first and second-round victories over No. 22 Oklahoma (4-3) and No. 12 Florida (4-1). 2021 marks USC's 37th NCAA Championships appearance.

USC does not have any ranked doubles pairs, and Salma Ewing (No. 42) and Eryn Cayetano (No. 98) are both ranked in singles.

Sunday will be just the second meeting between NC State and USC. The Trojans won a 4-3 decision in the only other matchup, which took place at the 2011 ITA National Team Indoors event.

For the first time in program history, the No. 6 NC State women's tennis team (19-5) is headed to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Championships as it defeated No. 35 USC by a 4-1 score on Sunday morning.

After earning its spot in the Sweet 16 for the second-straight time and the second time in school history, the Wolfpack will now be one of eight teams playing in the quarterfinal round later this week.

The Pack quickly set the tone in doubles action with dominant victories on the top two courts. Both 12th-ranked Anna Rogers and Alana Smith and fifth-ranked Jaeda Daniel and Adriana Reami continued to prove themselves among the nation's best. Each Wolfpack duo only dropped a game apiece on the way to tallying a pair of 6-1 wins to claim the doubles point in less than 30 minutes of action.

The story was the same in singles action as Reami, Daniel, Rencheli and Lexi Keberle all went up a set to maintain momentum for NC State. In total, the squad took five of six first sets in singles, as Smith also won her first in a tiebreaker after trailing 0-2 early.

No. 82 Rencheli was the first to wrap up her singles match in straight sets with the 6-1, 6-3 decision over Constance Branstine.

USC took the victory on court one, but Reami and Daniel were both up three games in their third sets and in good position to close out the team victory.

Daniel got the job done on court four, closing her match out with a break over Summer Dvorak to complete the 6-1, 2-6, 6-1 win. The victory marked her fifth in her last six completed singles matches and put NC State's advantage at 3-1.

Reami closed out the match about 15 minutes later, with her 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 victory over Danielle Wilson securing the 4-1 team win and punching NC State's historic ticket to the next round.

The remaining rounds of the 2021 NCAA Championships, including all singles and doubles competition following the team tournament, will be played at the USTA National Campus in Lake Nona. NC State advances to take on No. 3 Georgia or No. 13 Virginia, with that quarterfinal matchup scheduled for Wednesday, May 19 at a time yet to be determined.

The sixth-ranked NC State women's tennis team (19-5) preps for a top-10 matchup in its NCAA quarterfinals debut, as it is set to take on third-ranked Georgia on Wednesday, May 19. The match is set for an 11 a.m. first serve from the USTA National Campus in Lake Nona.

With a victory over the Bulldogs, the Wolfpack would advance to the national semifinals where it would face either No. 7 Florida State or No. 2 Texas.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS:
Georgia is 23-1 on the season and is making its NCAA Championships appearance for the 34th time in a row. The team was a national finalist in 2019, falling to Stanford in the championship match.

Katarina Jokic (No. 4), Meg Kowalski (No. 20), Marta Gonzalez (No. 52), Lea Ma (No. 55) and Morgan Coppoc (No. 68) are all ranked in singles, and the Bulldogs also boasts the nation's No. 6 doubles pair in Ariana Arsenault and Jokic.

Sunday is just the fourth meeting between NC State and Georgia. The Bulldogs own the slight 2-1 advantage all time, but the Wolfpack took the last matchup between the two teams. Then-No. 8 NC State beat third-ranked Georgia 4-1 in the consolation draw of the 2020 ITA Indoor National Championship.

The victory was the highest ranked win for NC State in program history, eclipsing the 2020 team's previous victory over No. 9 South Carolina. NC State won the doubles point with victories from its top two pairs, and Alana Smith, Anna Rogers and Adriana Reami added singles wins with Smith clinching on the top court.
