The NC State softball team dropped its doubleheader on Friday evening with Boston College at Dail Stadium. The Wolfpack fell 6-2 in game one and 12-2 (5) in the nightcap.
The Pack moves to 20-18 (4-9 ACC) and the Eagles improve to 18-15 (7-3 ACC).
How It Happened Game One-NC State scored two runs in the second inning.
Timberlyn Shurbutt led off the inning with a single through the left gap, and
Cheyenne Balzer brought her home with a one-out double to right center. Then after
Sam Russ legged out an infield single to put runners at the corners,
Lily Bishop allowed Balzer to cross home plate with a single up the middle.
-BC plated a run in the third on an RBI groundout to first base after a pair of outfield singles puts runners at the corners.
-In the fourth inning a Wolfpack error allowed two runs to score with the bases loaded, giving the Eagles a 3-2 advantage.
-The Eagles scored three more runs on one hit and two errors, extending their lead to four. With runners on second and third, a single and error plated two runs and a wild pitch scored the third run.
Game Two-BC quickly took a 2-0 lead in the first on three hits and an error. After a pair of outfield singles and error put runners at second and third, an RBI single and sacrifice fly to left field plated the runs.

Alyssa Compton's RBI sacrifice bunt after
Jade Caraway drew a leadoff walk and Garner's double to left center started the threat.
-In the second inning BC extended its lead to two when a wild pitch scored a run, but the Pack once again cut its deficit to one in the bottom half when
Angie Rizzi scored on an error after her leadoff single and Balzer's double put runners at second and third.
-Another Wolfpack error extended BC's lead to 4-2. After a leadoff walk started the side an error brought the run in.
-In the fourth BC scored seven runs on five hits and two errors to seal the run-rule win, and added two more runs in the fifth on a passed ball and sacrifice fly to center field.
Up NextThe teams will meet for the finale Sunday at Dail Stadium. There will not be a game played Saturday. First pitch is 12 p.m. and the game will be streamed on the ACC Network Extra.
