The NC State softball team closed out its fall slate on Friday evening when it swept Elon at Hunt Softball Complex. The Wolfpack won its first game 3-0 and defeated the Phoenix 8-2 in the nightcap.

Jade Caraway scored on Lily Bishop's sacrifice fly, and in the sixth inning NC State tacked on two more runs with Bishop's two-run home run after pinch hitter

Game Two RecapNC State grabbed a 3-0 lead in the second inning. Timberlyn Shurbutt drew a two-out walk, Madeline Curtis followed with a single and then a pair of Elon throwing errors with
Brittany Nimmo at bat allowed all three players to score.
In the third inning the Pack scored five runs on four hits and three errors, highlighted by doubles from
Alyssa Compton and Shurbutt. Elon cut its deficit to seven in the fourth on a Wolfpack error, and added another run in the seventh inning on a groundout to the pitcher's circle.
Kama Woodall, Nimmo and Hubbard all saw time in the circle, while the team collected seven hits in the contest.
