I mean false positives are a real thing. Not saying the number is massive, but it is greater than zero. I assume on people testing positive as a asymptomatic after vax they would double check the test.

Also, there were early studies that showed a higher false positive rate when other coronaviruses were present. Not saying again that they are going to trigger a positive, but it could alter the false positive rate enough to be significant as we get closer to near zero numbers.

I seem to recall a number of NFL 'false positives' over the course of their season. So I would think as the true case load gets lower, they would want to double check some of these asymp cases. And if they are still doing PCR.... dial it down.

I assume your job requires it, but I am curious as to why they would do this? It is highly unlikely you will transmit the virus after vaccination, based on the data that has emerged so far. I know Dr. Gandhi and some other doctors I follow say we should not be testing people who are fully vaccinated and are asymptomatic. I do know my son is no longer being tested, since he received his vaccination. This was one of the many motivating factors for him to get the vaccine. He was tested over 60 times last football season from July through the bowl game and was being tested regularly during Spring conditioning and practices, until he got vaccinated.

Right. We are to the point in the pandemic that a positive antigen/quick test (especially if asymptomatic) should be followed up with a LOW Ct PCR test, to actually verify.

Not that asymptomatic testing should actually be widespread at this point.

Yes for work. I travel to a country that Americans are required to quarantine for 21 days now it was 14. I am allowed to skip quarantine. I go on a controlled itinerary, hotel and work only, cannot stay over 14 days, and get tested all the time.

The country has a zero case objective.

Thanks for taking the time to update us. I have a good friend who is an international cargo pilot and he has to do the same thing when he flies to China and a couple of other countries. He does not mind most of the countries, but he said his trips to China are the worst.

So we are on 2 different arguments. GP is arguing that COVID is a scam, is no worse than the flu, and the vaccines are used to control us through microchips or some other crazy theory. You can share thousands of peer-reviewed sources and he will still deny it. No purpose in arguing against crazy.

It is still possible to have COVID after the vaccine, so to see cases is not surprising. It is very low risk, like 0.0005% low risk. When you multiple that percentage times the millions that have been vaccinated, you do get a decent number of cases that could occur. It could have been a false positive, especially if asymptomatic. That also happens. I would have to have the actual medical information in front of me to make the decision and the Yankees are sure not going to give that to me. The CDC guidance is what matters right now to you and to me.

I don't see anyone here arguing that Pelosi hasn't flip flopped or not followed the data at some point or another including now. No one on this board is saying, oh yeah Pelosi should still force masks in the chamber, even with those that are vaccinated. You are arguing against something that hasn't been said that I have seen. Honestly, she probably is just exercising her power or just trying to piss off the Repubs in the chamber or both.

There has been zero consistent messaging out of the current administration. Texas and Florida have opened up and have been for weeks and there wasn't the doom and gloom like the "experts" and the MSM warned. As a matter of fact Michigan has had some of if not the strictest lock down laws/rules in the country and had a hell of a lot worse result because of it.

The fact that people test positive after having it and being vaccinated goes back to what I have said for months. We NEVER should have shut down the country, mandated masks and crippled our economy over this virus.

We could have taken precautions, protected the elderly and most vulnerable. It became a political grenade aimed at the GOP and President Trump that the lefties took advantage of with their media propaganda arm. That can't be argued after all of a sudden we have the crisis at the border, war in the Middle East, horrible job numbers, highest inflation in 12 years and the economy flirting with tanking.
