This lineup may not 50 homers next year...

Why would you sign when you have another year left to come back and improve your stock? Not saying it won't happen but not sure it is the best advice trying to start that grind with the chance of being cut and out of ball in a couple months.Mandras said:
Fraasman and Hogue are probably going to sign UDFA deals if not drafted. If one was to stay, it'll be Hogue IMO
Seniors sign for no money because they have no leverage. So financially it rarely makes sense to come back if someone is willing to pay you as a Junior.Jtilley said:Why would you sign when you have another year left to come back and improve your stock? How much leverage do undrafted juniors actually have? I mean let's be honest here, if they had so much interest to use said leverage they would be getting drafted.rwwalsh said:Seniors sign for no money because they have no leverage. Now if we were giving out fat NIL checks that may make a difference, but I haven't heard us doing that.
They have no leverage either, but if someone did offer them a UDFA deal for whatever reason they'd be kinda dumb not to take it. Don't think you see those happen often though so if they go undrafted they should be back.CLTWolf said:How much leverage do undrafted juniors actually have? IIRC, isn't there like a $20K cap on UDFA signings? In fairness, that could be dated and I don't have the energy to look it up.
As JUCO guys, both Hogue and Fraasman (should) have that extra JUCO year to use so they prolly do have some more leverage.

That's a good point about the JUCO years, should definitely increase their chances of returning if they don't go in the top 10 rounds.
I can only speak for myself but I'd rather come back to school and get some NIL money and try to get drafted as a slot saver the next year.rwwalsh said:They have no leverage either, but if someone did offer them a UDFA deal for whatever reason they'd be kinda dumb not to take it.
