He won MVP for the Durham spot in the MLB X home run tournament. He is on the same team as Ryan Zimmerman. With the win, he secured a spot on the wild card team to play in the finals in Salt Lake City in September.

I think it's 34 but a lot of team are at 32 or 33

One of my best friends tried out for the team when we were in school in 1998, so it definitely isn't new. They were told it was highly unlikely anyone would make it, and nobody did from his group.

Scholarship limit for baseball is 34 up from 11.7.

Yep and I imagine coaches are uncomfortable with that number and thus we are seeing walk ons being emphasized right now. Just need more numbers for scrimmages, etc. Notice it is pitcher and catchers of most interest.
