For all the good this team has done this year, sweep Clemson, they have also done this all year, lose to bad teams. That is why our overall record is not very good. Bottom line, we may win ACC but can't be a host with all the bad loses. RPI is just not good enough.

Yeah, I'm not sure what impact a coach has on hitting and not hitting. Laughable. Other than calling bunts or hit and runs they have no impact whatsoever.

The way unc-ch has lit up FSU the last two nights, tomorrow may not matter unfortunately.

I would have liked my chances better vs Ohtanis fat little cousin, especially with a double play. That call will burn me the most but it is just me venting about Avent being old school. He has gotten a lot more out of this team this year than I expected.

I think we all would take having the chance to win the ACC's in the final weekend if you told us that after the Jacksonville debacle at the beginning of the year

This team was never going to be an offensive juggernaut. Pitching and defense was always the calling card. But they need to do the little things. Like get a big hit. Get runners in from 3rd with less than two outs. Walk, steal bases, sacrifice. It feels like this teams approach is the same as last year expect they don't have Amak Pennington, Cozart.

Like tf is Nixon doing popping up to the catcher on a 3-1 ball around his eyes. That's not his game.

Welp, after sleeping on it, I am still just as disappointed this morning as I was last night, but after all this, it still comes down to us winning today, and the cheats losing. Regardless, I guess we have at least secured the double bye, which is a lot more than I was expecting with the way the season started. Let's end it with a win today, boys - Go Pack!!! (PS - please don't choke today!)

RPI is now 30. Hosting is probably out of the question. Unless we make it to Sunday next week.

Big picture this team has overachieved. We are put together like a small market MLB team. We have a few high end arms that were home grown and then seemingly were working on a very tight budget in the free agent market. This leads to a team that has limitations offensively but remains competitive due to the high end arms. Gonna have some losses you don't like when your offense is limited. Pitching will win a lot of games but it doesn't win out every night.

Going to need more money to compete nationally I suspect moving forward. The SEC, with football money but also money derived from these huge stadiums they fill consistently, is going to have a different level of talent than we can put together. If we are going to continue to be a lower budget roster, we need to pick it up with HS recruiting. Look at our lineup - there are very few highly rated HS recruits playing. Sosa and Head are about it and neither player is from NC. We need to do a better job in state with all the talent that is produced in NC. Look at the 2026 class that is mostly done. We have a few hangovers from freshman year commitments that probably aren't playing at this level as juniors. We have 2-3 high end offensive talents coming in and really not much in terms of arms. Need more than that in a given class.

Having said that, I have said and will say I wish we would invest more heavily in baseball - facilities and players.
