.@OregonBaseball is headed to the Super Regional round and will host ORU next weekend. Again, the Eugene Emeralds are scheduled to play at home -- but it is UO's facility. That will be first priority, or so you'd think.

Sunday was a bad day for the ACC

That Clemson/TN game was epic - Clemson never recovered from that HR (on strike away)

Nor the bogus ejection of one of their better players later in the game. I think that was a big turning point, too.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but the ejection was not bogus. This Clemson team runs their mouths a lot and both teams had been warned to STFU by the umps. Clemson player tried to push his luck and got the boot, just as he should have. Yes every team talks smack and it's part of the game, when it crosses over to taunting or worse, it needs to be shut down. It should not be acceptable at any level.

South Carolina talked a lot also. The umpire finally had enough and warned their dugout, and then it stopped.

I personally thought the Gamecocks put NC State on the back foot with their taunting and demonstrative behavior -- which included a pitcher staring/chirping at Cozart after he struck him out and a Gamecock batter flinging his bat about 30 feet in the air when he drew an RBI walk.

When the umpire made South Carolina stop, I felt NC State settled in and played as good, if not better, baseball than the Gamecocks did.

Tennessee doesn't run their mouths, too? Baseball was better when pitchers enforced things instead of umps anyway.

Did you hear Kyle Petersen? He agrees with my opinion. He said there is no way he said enough to warrant ejection while running off the field. He was very critical of the umpire's discretion with the importance of the game.

I take it you are not a Clemson fan? Lots of teams run their mouths during a game. Some are worse than Clemson. UNC's guys aren't choir boys. ECU is worse to me.

I prefer to have my team "shut up and play" but in that instance of that importance on something they had done all year.....bad umpiring.

Ultimately, I don't think anyone, besides those 2 teams and the umps, know the full details. If that was a random, talking some junk, ejection- it looks bad. IF the umps warned both teams/coaches and the Clemson kid didn't stop, it's okay.

PERSONALLY, i think it was a weak ejection, but we don't know the back story or if they had been issued warnings.

And from the TV, the south carolina kids looked OBNOXIOUS. I am all for celebrating with your team and hyping them up, but they were some clowns (and the umps agreed).

There is FAR more talking than I like in games these days. Lots of "look at me" and I very much dislike it all. But there is a time and place to enforce it. If it were egregious, then so be it...toss him. But from the video review, it appeared bogus....even, if he were warned. Umps have to consider all consequences. Bases loaded one out double play. And he throws out the centerfielder for talking to the guy forced at second while they both head to their respective dugouts???? Really...that warranted an ejection?

Seems very poor to me.

The fact that it includes a 1 game suspension made it worse. I doubt they lose to Charlotte if Cannarella is playing.

Exactly my point. The ump should sit a while....period. At least make it bad enough that we all know he was doing something to warrant such a drastic penalty

You keep repeating that what the kid did was not enough to warrant rejection when you have no idea what he said. Both teams had been warned according to the announcers and yes the announcers also complained it wasn't fair to eject the player. Once again, they complained when they had no idea what was said or what had transpired earlier in the game. That said, we will just have to agree to disagree about whether it was justified or not. I will also repeat, no matter who you cheer for, taunting or worse has no place in sports period. Be it a Pack, Clemson, Tennessee or UNC-Cheat player, there is no justification!

IMO, if it gets to the point that a kid gets tossed out for talking, then it means the umps didn't do their job earlier in the game. I thought it was a travesty that SC was allowed to do all the chirping and complaining they did before finally getting a warning. Ump should've nipped that in the bud in the very first inning, because from the first batter they were arguing strikes. By letting it continue, you create a toxic environment, and eventually the other team is going to react, and they'll probably be the ones that get in trouble. I don't know or care what the Clemson kid did or didn't do, and don't really care that he was kicked out because screw Clemson, but if you let it go on for 11 innings as the ump, that's on you.

My issue was that it wasn't immediate. The ump went and conferred with his crew and then made the call, at least based on the replay. If what was shown was accurate, then whatever was said wasn't THAT bad, or it would've been right then.

I actually think there is too much talking and chirping in college baseball

I am not a fan of kids chirping back and forth-I am probably in the minority but I think it has become much worse the past two years. I always go to a UF series every year and it gets bad. I will say the fan interaction that past 10 years is so much better. People really get into it

That's what makes this the greatest game in the world.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.
