The lefty that just came in to pitch for Oral Roberts was committed to NC State at one point out of a JUCO. No idea what happened and how he ended up at ORU. Put up some really good numbers this season for Oral Roberts tho.

Yeahh I remember that name. He couldn't throw strikes but always had plus stuff. Great numbers by him this year

that play by the third baseman for Wake to get that runner at the plate was such a great play. Wow. Makes a great backhanded stab down the line while playing up...he bobbles the ball, regains control, and somehow makes a catchable throw to the catcher around the runner running down the line. Jesus. And then tops it off by starting the 5-4-3 double play to escape the inning. Potential national championship winning play.

Yep. I can not understand not having your best umpire for a game of this magnitude. His strike-zone has been all over the place. You can see it driving batters and pitchers crazy. Sometimes the corner is a strike and sometimes it is a ball. He can't make up his mind.

On the fast track for Florida - WFU this weekend. I'd lean Florida, but those are the most complete teams in the country. Best depth of pitching and best lineup constructions. Would be a great matchup for exposure to college baseball.

LSU is everything that's currently wrong about college sports but I don't want to live in a world where Wake has a baseball natty this century and we don't. And after decades of watching UNC and Duke win multiple bball nattys and Clemson multiple football nattys.

your first 8 words sum up everything I believe. I could care less about somehow supposedly feeling inferior to my neighbors. ACC needs to continue to rack up championships, and if Wake is the answer this year in baseball, more power to em.

You want to be relegated to oblivion in short order, then let teams like LSU continue to tamper and buy players every year to win natty's. They did it in womens basketball, and they tried like hell to do it in baseball. I'm not ok with making that the norm in todays world.

Agreed! We know they will have to beat an SEC team to get to the finals and most likely facing another SEC team when/if they get there. 53-10 in one season is quite impressive.

In the late 70's, Jacksonville White Oak(crosstown rival to my high school, Jacksonville) went 57-1(I think they won that many and I know they only lost one game) over two years. That team had former Pack baseball and football players Louie Meadows and Chuckie Canady playing for them, plus 4 others who were drafted by MLB teams. What Wake has done this year in one of the most competitive Division 1 conferences is outstanding and I do hope they win it all.
Being an N. C. State fan builds great character!

The catcher was the more impressive part of the play to me. IThe runner, who looked back or he might have beaten the throw, was in his line on sight. He played a short hop and made a great tag. Clutch for him.

I actually think Wake played poorly on defense last night and still won. The throw by the 3B to start the DP was not good. They struck out a ton. And yet they made enough big plays to win. A charmed life or is it destiny?
