I had thought about coming up today, I set my alarm and everything. But I slept right through it and woke up at 1030....aint gonna complain about getting 11 hours of sleep though as I had a period of 22 days last year where I didnt sleep one bit, 22 days in a row of not sleeping lol. Crazy stage 1 strategies by the 5 and 11.....didn't work out for them by staying out and not pitting during the stage. They fell back quick, to the point of the 5 going a lap down.

We just got home, and I thought the race was good. The 24 was the class of the field. Sorry GLASS, no hotdogs today. The line was crazy long.
We were able to snag a few bags of 4 dogs at the track this afternoon. Awesome to see the 24 car finally get a win this year. Been a long ways coming. Byron now with 4 career wins at martinsville

Yeah, it was nice even if it's somewhat anti-climactic at this point and with Byron out of the chase most of the commentary was on the points race (as it should be).
Bell had it cut to 36 in real time at one point, but then came the speeding penalty.
One more week and then we'll have to be waiting on Daytona in February again. Wonder what my wife would say if I just decided to go down there next year, bucket list item.
Diffey just sounds like anybody else on these broadcasts now - I used to hate having to listen to him, and now I don't even notice him... oh, and Hocevar confirms once again that he is a total punkass...
There was a lot of radio chatter about the 77 yesterday. You should head down there. My guess is that it would be a good experience, if the rain stays away. Lol
Daytona is an awesome experience. If you are able, go for a week or more ahead of time. There is something to do every day. Even catch some of the races during what they call Speedweeks at the New Smyrna Speedway that they hold annually each year prior to the 500. It's about 25 minutes away but they have some fun races there with all different classes of cars. They will have races each night (about 8 or 9 nights total) right up until the day of the Daytona 500.

I remember going to my first Daytona 500 in 2011, it was awesome. The parking lots are far away so they actually school bus you into the track from the parking lot, that was when I got a bit emotional lol.

At first I liked the new energy that the 77 brought to NASCAR. I found myself pulling for him and wanting him to win. As time has gone on his antics have become a little too much. The unnecessary things he does for attention has lost me.
