Yep, it is "almost" a done deal. Larson just has to finish somewhat decent at Martinsville and Miami and it is locked up. Should Larson have a great run at Martinsville, he can lock it up.

The maximum points you can get in a race is 76 points. That means you win Stage 1, Stage 2 and the race, to also go along with getting a point for having the fastest lap of the race.

For Hamlin to have a chance, he is going to have to take some chances this weekend, win stages and the race and hope that Larson wrecks out early. If Larson finished middle of the pack, it's probably a done deal.

sounds like the 5 just needs to finish 25th-30th or somewhere in there and it's over....could be clinched before MIami it looks like

Heard today on a podcast that the 35's cockpit looked pretty bad and the foot box was bad. Sounds like the 35 is lucky. I would expect NASCAR to make some changes. I'll reach out to my buddy who works at a Toyota team and try to get some information.

During the latest Actions Detrimental podcast, Denny Hamlin came out and said that's pretty much a wrap on the championship for the 5, barring mechanical failure. Laraon basically has a full race advantage on the field and Hamlin said they are racing for second place now.

Hamlin seemed to just accept it. I'm hoping for a good race Sunday.

Martinsville fall race always seems to deliver some drama. Last fall as a Byron fan was one of my favorite races I've seen in person to watch him and Blaney battle all day for the last spot in the championship race.

There has also been some fights there as well. The 1's ride on the wall is the craziest thing I've seen in person.

Lol, I don't want to get the rest of my non-Hendrick friends here upset with me, but they all know that I am a longtime #24 fan and after Byron being so close the last three years prior, it's been a very disappointing year for me as a huge fan of him and his team.

I mean when they interviewed him last week after finishing 2nd, I don't know how long it had been since I heard him speak live at a race? Do you know how crazy that is after the last three years prior?

Larson winning (again), I guess is the next best thing - but it's still not the same.

As far as watching these next two races for interest in the Chase itself, this new format, at least this year, has eliminated that for everyone. We know it's Larson's championship at this point so watching mainly for the love of racing and seeing if someone can get a win to make them feel better about their season, which is still important for sponsorships, etc. Luckily Martinsville is a fun track to watch a race.

Yeah I've seen a lot of this sentiment online. The truth for me is that as long as the cars are running I'll be watching. Been a rough year for my driver Byron in the 24 so any shot he has at a win this season I'll be pulling for him.

Yep agreed. I'm pulling for some of these guys that haven't won all year to maybe sneak one in.

I watch all the races because I like racing, all types. I like the strategy that some teams try to work, like the RFK cars last week. That was impressive to watch. I'll watch anything from NASCAR, F1, NHRA, Indy, local short tracks, dirt tracks.

NASCAR " fans " on X are something else. I'll watch the race regardless cause I love NASCAR. I was talking to a official at CMS and was asking him why does NASCAR seem to listen so much to X. Could never really get an answer.
