The race was a welcome watch after that football debacle from the afternoon.

Apparently, I fell asleep briefly after the wreck that took Byron out, but somehow woke up just as they were taking the green for the GWC.

You guys know that I definitely didn't mind seeing SVG missing The Chase (I think I even heard Diffey sobbing in the background).

6 Toyotas - 4 for JGR, 2 for 23XI
5 Fords - 3 for Penske, 2 for RFK
5 Chevys - 3 for Hendrick, 2 for Spire

The 4 JGR cars are starting the Chase inside the top 6 and that is strong.

I am happy for Keselowski, he didnt make it but two of his cars did. He was so happy for Preece last night, taking part in the victory lane pictures.

The Spire cars are interesting. I don't expect him to win the Chase, but Hocevar is always a wild card to win a race here and there. Suarez is the one that surprises me the most, he has actually done pretty well this year.

NASCAR needs to take away down force and drag, have these CUP cars drive like O'Reilly. In that series, the second place car has the air advantage.

Sorry for the delay, got back in late yesterday and was too exhausted Saturday after the race. Was a great time and really cool in person. The scale was unbelievable to some of the guys in our group being their first time away from short tracks.

We all really enjoyed the racing product in person, quite a few passes for the lead and action all throughout the pack early. Shame fuel saving came into play at the end but somewhat expected there. Still can't believe no one ran out of was listening into Byron radio through the scanners and they mentioned they thought everyone would be short.

Overall though really liked it, only complaint is the tailgating situation isn't great with the limited parking lots and it's tough to see the back stretch even from up high with how far away it is. Thinking we'll try to head back for the 500 next year or mark talladega off the list then.

With the race being at Darlington this weekend, a few will make their way over to Florence Motor Speedway Friday night for the CARS Tour race. SVG and Connor Zilisch are going to run late model stocks, with the Red Bull logos on the cars.

Dale Jr will be driving a pro late model for the first time and will be reunited with the Eurys.

lol…They have gone from Ford to Chevy, and Toyota. Jimmy Johnson is the majority owner now. Sad, that a Petty no longer owns a team. Side note, LMC had announced a new deal with JH earlier this year. Something must of happened?

For sure. This was last year.

Doesn't he still own some type of "ceremonial" very small percentage of them? I thought so anyway, but knowing me, one year rolls into the next so quickly now that it's probably been 5 years already since they initially got together.

All I know is that in those random races over the years whenever Erik Jones threatened for a win, I seem to remember him having a Blue Oval on the hood.

Sure wouldn't mind having a piece of memorabilia signed by "The King"... I know that much!

(he ain't going to be around too too much longer either unfortunately... and that will be a big one whenever that happens. Probably the biggest ever.)

To add to the Petty topic, my wife's great uncle ( RIP ) was a big Petty fan and had a small museum of Petty stuff in his garage.

CARS Tour will be running tonight at Florence Motor Speedway. Coverage will start on FloRacing at 5:00pm, with qualifying shortly after that.

Racing starts at 7:00pm with PLM, followed by LMSC.

Dale Jr will be racing in the PLM race; SVG and Zilisch will be racing in the LMSC race. However, the series has a bunch of great racers and is always a fun watch.

One the grill? Went to the meat locker which is walking distance from my house and got 2 thick thick cut ribeyes, marinated in Caribbean Jerk by Landy's, Wings that are doused in lemon pepper herbs/spices, and a couple smokehouse flavored pornchops....got some huge portobello caps also marinated in the jerk sauce.

Had zero plans of going but the girlfriend told me we're going or else she aint coming back over for a month....so we're going. Got a few xanax to bring as it helps keep my stomach nice and settled without that gag reflex I so often feel these days

he took a medication with the gatorade and the tomato he ate prerace.....it coulda beena benzo, as good docs know flexeril sucks, Dale was having stiff neck prior to this race.....benzos were originally created to be muscle relaxants. I think Dale took a valium or something before the race and on a practically empty stomach it got him in a confused state.....only way of explaining what happened there.....unless he accidentally took an ambien....the man had a two hour black out, had to be medicine induced....only way to explain it.
