Cory Heim at Martinsville last night.

I've been saying for years that crew members get too involved when it is between the drivers....NASCAR encouraged it with the "have at it boys" attitude.....another issue is crew members are no longer those "skinny dark coffee cigarette smoking car guys", a lot of the crew members these days are former college FB players or just much bigger more physical dudes that dont know nearly as much as the guys from back in the day knew, but they damn sure know how to fight.

That individual should have their hard card taken from him. No need for that at all for a late mod race. Or any really.

Correct thread this time. JJ is putting together a good lineup at least on paper.

Not sure, but a buddy of mine told me that they have a habit of this. Edit, crew member for Treyten Lapcevich.

How about the run Larson has been on! Still think Denny makes a run but Larson has flipped the script big time so far

Agree, the 11 isn't going to get it done only getting 34 points when the 5 is averaging 54 I think? Plus the 5 got 76 yesterday. Wow

The 11 needs a win for sure. He's been in the top five/10 each race but he is going to have to do a little better than that to get it done. Larson and Logano have made the most of the Chase so far.

I wasn't able to watch the race this weekend but listened to it on the way home. We spent the weekend at Rockingham Dragway, watching the NHRA Nationals. This is the first NHRA national event held there in it's long history. I remember going there back in the 80's and it has the same feel. Brought back some good memories. They sold out this weekend.....awesome showing by the fans.

A lot of great runs. They set some track records (makes sense as Nitro hasn't run there since 1998) and the racers really enjoyed the track. They commented on it all weekend long.

The top MPH for the weekend was set during the final of Top Fuel.....342 MPH.

Four races in, it looks like it has whittled itself down to the Top 6.

Probably actually the Top 5 if we are being honest, but I guess if Reddick (#7) did something ridiculous like he did at the start of the season, he could still get back into it as well.

The last driver still carrying the flag for my Hendrick Motorsports organization...

*still just totally befuddled over William Byron's lack of ever really being even a slight threat to win in any race this entire season. I hope that Jeff makes some major changes within that team in the off-season, because it kind of sucks when your longtime favorite (the #24 car) is no longer competitive - and especially after having been in the Final Four the previous three years before this.

The 24 has been a head scratcher for sure. One thing to watch this weekend, the 5 got the benefit of the metric due to qualifying being cancelled. He pretty much had clean air all day. Now he won fair and square but I want to see how he does at Vegas and CMS. I think the championship could be pretty settled after we leave CMS.

He historically runs as good at both Vegas and Charlotte as anybody left in the field, IMO.

True, no argument there, i just want to see what Toyota does with a whole weekend and not a rain out. I do think at this point the 5 team is probably the favorite for me right now, along with the 11, but they have been quiet.
TheStorm

A Toyota will probably still win the championship, IMO… at least they should - the best equipment by far the entire year. Denny or Bell most likely… just saying that Larson couldn't ask to be in a better position than where he is right now…

This is why I love racing, at one point the 45 was the shoe in, then the 11, and now the 5 is or has come to life. Personally, I think HMS and the 5 have a shot, just like what you posted.

I remember going to the Winston Invitationals in 1998.....Car alarms were going off in the parking lot for the top fuels. It wasnt like Nascar, you truly needed ear plugs .....in fact I think my current tinnitus is from this event back then,

It's crazy how they shake your whole body...hard to focus when they go by. I remember it being similar when I was a kid but man, these things are even more powerful today. Its truly amazing.

We did see Tony Stewart quite a bit throughout the weekend. He's short in person.....nice guy.
TheStorm
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Seems like I remember that his first one was shortened by rain. Television coverage was always on tape delay and came on at something like 6:00 PM. They wouldn't tell who won on any newscasts, etc. until people had a chance to actually watch it "live" for themselves.

Tony is a great guy, funny and witty as well.

.@RFKRacing says that Brad @Keselowski will depart the organization after 2026 but that it "remains committed to competing as a three-car NASCAR Cup Series organization in 2027 and will continue its active pursuit of a third charter," per official announcement.

Penalties from the incident after the Martinsville late model race:

1. Team owner and crew chief Chad Bryant has been fined $2,000 and suspended indefinitely from NASCAR. He is also suspended from participating in the 2027 Martinsville 300 and placed on probation by NASCAR for one year. Bryant is also required to complete anger management training through a program mandated by the Sanctioning Body.

2. CBR crew member Steven Civitarese has been fined $1000 and suspended indefinitely from NASCAR with a one-year probation.

3. Ryden Lapcevich, Treyten's younger brother and mechanic, of CBR has been fined $500 and placed on probation through the end of next year.

4. Typically, an indefinite suspension gets lifted when a member under penalty completes the terms of the process for reinstatement. In the case of the Chad Bryant Racing crew, that will likely mean Bryant's anger management program and the paying of fines.

The probation is then a mechanism in which to ensure good behavior in the short term after reinstatement. If there is another violation of the rule book, the member on probation could face even stiffer penalties.

Although it's not Earth shattering, I'm glad they did something. That was uncalled for....they waited until Heim left his car and was walking alone to his hauler when they jumped him. Let the drivers figure it out but no need for crew members jumping a guy while he's alone.

These guys are so "small time" that they should have thrown the proverbial book at them. Would love to see someone press charges against those *******.

F those guys.

Thanks for answering what was going to be my first question before I asked it.

1. Who do you think he ends up driving for (if anybody)?

2. How many years was it RFK? 2... maybe 3 tops? (if longer than that, it would surprise me but either way it hasn't been "long" at all in any kind of big picture way).
