I remember thinking the racing really kind of sucked at this track last year for some reason... Gateway is essentially the St. Louis area track just across the state line into Illinois, right?

Seems like I want to remember that the cars handle "tight" trying to turn in the corners there, and that passing is somewhat difficult in general terms... am I remembering that correctly - or do I have it confused with another track somewhere else?
Yep, it's an odd track. Think of a larger Martinsville in terms of long straightaways and sharp corners, but egg shaped. Turns 1 and 2 are totally different than 3 and 4. Setup will vary from car to car depending on how they want their car to handle on each end of the track.

I'm with ya....I get the feeling a Ford will win today. No real reason why, as all 3 manufacturers had good qualifying runs yesterday. But I could see Penske doing well today.

Agree. Up until now, the chase has been somewhat clean.
Although the Fords dominated most of the day, it was the Chevrolets that were there at the end. It looked like it was either Logano or Brad K's race, with Berry even looking good for most of the race.
The Hendrick cars really came to life after the red flag and Bowman showed up out of nowhere, as did Byron. All the restarts sure mixed up the cars.

Ended the 2nd Stage something like 10 laps early and then caused the Red Flag at the end... and then in true fashion for me, I kept flipping back and forth waiting for it to start again and then something else on another channel caught my attention and then when I remembered to turn back, of course I was too late.
Don't even know who won yet, as I'm typing this but based on your next post, I'm assuming that it must have been Alex Bowman? (Going to check now).
*Oh, boy. Kyle Larson and he was in the middle of the fight for the lead pretty much all day!

I don't know what newer track that I had WWT mixed up with, but that was actually some damn good racing yesterday...
If I remember correctly, brake rotors took out Ryan Blaney, Chase Elliott (which also took out Chase Briscoe) and Chris Beuscher.
That seems right. Also, I don't think that Toyota had any issues as well?
I don't recall any mechanical issues with the Toyotas either. Probably more pit stop related than anything....oh and Bubba dive bombing the entry into the corners a few times causing wrecks.
