Great weekend of racing, and wow did I hear some info. Buffalo Trace is tasting good right now.

Spill it.

It's going to be interesting to see what happens. HMS is having some issues getting their hands wrapped around their new car, right now they don't have a Jeff Gordan and a Ray Evernham to right the ship. Folks don't think about this much but look what happened to JJ's career after Jeff retired. ( JJ did get number 7 in 2016 ) I say all of that to say, HMS could use a veteran like a Hamlin or a Joey who could come in tell you what's wrong with the car. All of their drivers admit that they don't work that way, now you bring Connor who is having a hard time this year.

My memory gets fuzzy sometimes on timelines (it's funny in that I remember timelines from 40 years ago better than I do from 10-15 years ago) - but JJ went downhill fast from his prime - whereas when Jeff fell off (prior to that), I felt it was more gradual (he just couldn't beat Jimmie head-to-head - and then Keselowski punted him from the Chase when he had his last legitimate chance to win a 5th Championship).

I always felt that it had more to do with Chad Knaus than anything else - but like I said, I get really fuzzy on the timelines sometimes.

Jeff was my dude... still is - that's why I pull for the #24.

I really wished they would have gone and tried to poach Chastain for that #48 ride.
