Right now the most annoying tit for tat feud on the sports boards absolutely has to be the 2001 / ICW poster and AnaeAnae. 2001 is a complete idiot no doubt, but AnaeAnae is drawn like a moth to a flame to everything he posts... he's been asked countless times to put the other guy on ignore, but he just can't bring himself to do so for some reason, which actually makes him more annoying than the idiot himself... and then 17 has to jump into the conversation and quotes both of them. The three of them all ruined another thread just the other night in fact.

Neither…I'll go with 65Pack. There is no way that's a State fan. He only shows up after a loss to bash the pack or the coaches. After a win, he's nowhere to be found.

At least 65Pack posts in moderation. I guess he's easier to take because he's bashing the coaches or the pack but doesn't usually get into it with the people who kick him for his views. OTOH, he could be a positive motivator….the more the pack wins, the less 65pack shows up! Ya gotta love that.

There's a handful of posters on the sports side that either a) I ignore or b) they're very condescending and/or want to feel intellectually superior and by doing so come across as ****** nozzles. Then you have probably the 4 or 5 posters who incessantly argue back and forth with each other and derails what feels like every thread there. To me, those people should be dealt with more so than the water cooler where it's contained to basically an echo chamber.

I think someone posted above that we have 3 or 4 posters that derail the Water Cooler. Now, the sample size is smaller in the WC vs the Sports Forums; however, it's still the same.

For the record, this is actually James's thread about tearing down the Water Cooler. As long at it exists, though, I think it's pretty important for IPS's (and NC's) mental health that there are people in here providing an alternate viewpoint to you guys. But some of you are so off the ranch and clearly there's no stomach for moderating it, that no, I can't imagine how any business owner in their right mind would allow this to carry on.

I get that the name-calling and insulting is something that would be reasonable to "censor" and clean up, because it is distasteful and may deter some people from posting in the forum.

But saying that people are being "extreme" in their positions is completely subjective. What may seme "extreme" to one person is not "extreme" to another. And it is completely unreasonable to say that The Water Cooler should be censored or closed down because some people find that the viewpoints being expressed are "extreme" to their liking.

There are plenty of "mainstream" threads here in The Water Cooler and people posting in The Water Cooler with more "mainstream" views. And I believe that you and others like you are welcome. You certainly are welcome, by me. I welcome all views and enjoy a discussion with anyone. I don't think you would be the target of any name-calling or insults. Most of that is just back-and-forth between "regulars" here in the forum who have more of a "history".

I get that the name-calling and insulting is something that would be reasonable to "censor" and clean up, because it is distasteful and may deter some people from posting in the forum.

We had a couple of active non political threads (the cooking thread and the old bourbon thread) and I think they got moved to Light It Red and they slowly withered on the vine if memory serves
