From what I gather over my 8 years of posting on IPS, the only real "problem" caused by The Water Cooler is that the site mods are constantly being hassled and bothered by the incessant whining and crying of Leftist posters who have had their precious snowflake feewings hurt by opinions they disagree with, and are whining to the mods to have conservative posters censored.

That is why I am being forced to address the issue of freedom of speech, and call them out as open enemies of freedom of speech. Of course I understand that IPS or any other owner of a private website can choose the type of speech allowed on their website. I have not criticized IPS for anything related to freedom of speech. To the contrary, I just thanked (in my 2nd post in this thread) James and the IPS team for having a forum like The Water Cooler here for free speech.

Or is your "justification" for censoring these posters just because you strongly disagree with their ideological views? It is pure speculation (and unfounded at that) to believe that by banning posters you are going to somehow "stimulate" more posters to join the board and cause more discussions to take place. To the contrary, the reality is that censorship (on any forum on the internet, including Twitter, etc) has a chilling effect and causes less posters to join in the discussion and fewer discussions to take place.

Glasswolf and I, who I don't see the world the same, regarding politics, gets along just wonderfully. Glass is a very reasoned person that can get pushed too far, like any of us. Even Glass left for some of the post. Heck, he took the NASCAR thread behind the paywall. It's not in the Water Cooler, so I forget about it; however, we have people with different drivers getting along just fine. For those that haven't been around NASCAR, the Ford/Chevrolet debate is as fierce as NC State/ UNC.

The truth of the matter is that IPS is no different than "X" when it comes to people. People will be people, unfortunately. We, as people, can really screw things up!

Regarding GP and Were and the so-called antisemitism, well… as I have said, I don't read many of their post, so I have no idea what anyone is talking about. You quoted me with, "I'm not sure". How can I be sure if I don't read their post? Now, if they are saying things about what the Israel Government is doing, then, no… that's not antisemitic. That should be viewed no differently than you having a negative opinion on our current administration. So, are you anti-American?

I think that's fairly easy. Smapty, GP, Were, and BBW. Posts would probably drop 75% but that would get rid of the childish idiots that just can't help themselves. And when you have 75% of the posts on the forum on ignore, it kinda makes the forum unreadable. I'm not going to follow a thread with 15 new replies where all 15 are on ignore. So I end up never engaging or reading because what's the point?

But James and gang can do whatever they want. If they don't clean it up, that's fine. They can leave this forum for the antisemitic posters they wanna keep around and I will leave them to that i suppose.
