What do you guys think? I think it's a possibility but I don't know enough about the rules of engagement. Perhaps those here who have served have some additional info?

There's a reason the heat on Hegseth is ratcheting up exponentially.

If this happened as is now being widely reported, it's a textbook example of an illegal order; is precisely the type of order that the Seditious 6 were warning armed servicemembers about; and unfortunately has exposed those in the chain of command to potential criminal charges for extrajudicial murder.

Hegseth is out there cosplaying GI Joe with real lives.

Civ doesn't say a word about the "armed servicemen" murdered by illegal immigrant, but is more than willing to threaten prosecution for those killing drug runners as ordered by the President and the Dept of War. What a guy!

Truly mentally ill.

Right. Why would I?

The two events literally have nothing to do with each other.

Why don't you take your irrelevant whataboutism to the bipartisan House and Senate Armed Services committee members that will be investigating Hegseth's order, and see if they find it persuasive.

Yeah. I know. You don't care about "armed servicemen". You just want to prosecute and arrest those who disagree with you politically, like you cheered for with your current president. You have so much in common with Nazis. What a guy.

Cool.

What about the bipartisan Congressmen that are investigating Hegseth's order?

Do they just want to prosecute and arrest those that disagree with them politically?

Do they have so much in common with Nazis?

Investigation means dick, cheerleader. Republicans aren't cultist like you, and are willing to look into accusations. People like you however are minions. Notice how you still don't say anything about your God murdering civilians. Wonder why?

But you most certainly do have a lot in common with Nazis, "amirite"?

Report tonight, I think, says that second order came from someone at a lower level than Hegseth.

so if the order came at a lower level, and it's not legal, are we saying Hegseth doesn't have responsibility as Secretary of Defense?

Again, I have no idea the legality of such an order.

Hokiewolf, I'm sure the admin will say they take responsibility; however, what does actually mean? To my knowledge, when any admin say "I take full responsibility", I don't think that actually means anything… Those are words; however, seldom, if ever, does any type of accountability come along with those words…

I can't imagine any legal issue will and should come from those actions. For me, I take a more hardline approach…. These people on the boat had a clear intent to provide for the distribution of drugs in the US. Taking them completely out is not out of order.

The people responsible for the distribution of drugs have an intent to make money, with a byproduct of destruction of people, whether the people want the drugs or not. For that, and with the volume of these drugs, eliminating them is a reasonable action. I think we need to clear up any laws that make this thinking shut down. These people are like any other person or group with the intent of destroying the people of the US with other means.

Take them out, 100%!!!

I definitely see your point, but I do have concerns about that approach as we have "declared war" I think that changes the rules of engagement, but again I just don't know.

What I've seen reported but not confirmed is that this would be similar to if you shot a plane down and the pilot ejected, at that point they stop being a combatant. Therefore it would be a war crime to shoot the pilot.

I think Flossy has the right idea, it needs to be played out, but I do have concerns about the approach taken.

Was that pilot acting the line of duty as a commissioned officer for an official national or was he a Joe Blow given an airplane by a criminal organization and on the way to bomb a sovereign nation and kill men, women and children for money?
