By illegals I assume you mean southern border crossers, almost all of which are Hispanic.
The states with the three largest illegal populations - by far - are California, Texas, and Florida.
Cali is obviously very blue and Texas and Florida are very red. These aren't exactly swing states.
The Hispanic vote is very diverse but trending red, and recent immigrants are even more likely to reject poltiicians that are associated - even if loosely or innaccurately - with socialist ideas/ideals like some Dems are.
So how would this grand plan to somehow leverage an immigrant population that is increasingly red and avoidant of socialism and located in non-swing states work to Democrats' benefit long-term, exactly?
Also, even if mildly, the black male vote has been trending red the last couple of elections so Dems better care about the black vote or it will bite them.
