Man, we had a TON of snow in North Carolina in 1973... I remember watching Lyndon B. Johnson's funeral on one of the rolling TV carts sitting on the floor in one of the hallways when I was in the 5th grade - and that was right after being out three days because of the snow in late January (we all had on snowclothes sitting there)... then this one in February... then we missed another 3 days in early March.

That was a great winter as kid! Maybe the best one growing up...

*I also remember walking in light flurries coming through Central Campus headed towards the Free Expression Tunnel from Dan Allen hoofing it down from the row to my very last exam at State in May 1986...

At least three people are dead and 10 injured following a tornado that touched down in Brunswick County near Ocean Isle Beach around midnight, county authorities said Tuesday morning.

Power lines are down and many homes are damaged, especially in the Ocean Ridge Plantation area, after a tornado hit the south end of Brunswick County overnight, according to the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office Facebook page.
