The eye has passed over us. Things have somewhat picked back up. Good bit of flooding on the island.

You guys stay safe in Wilmington. I believe this thing had a little more thump than I was expecting.

I think people don't worry as much when it is still a tropical storm so close to arrival, but I've been telling people for a few days that if it turned north and rode the gulf stream this way that it would intensify before landfall. I tend to not be worried if they predict a landfall in Wilmington, but when they predict Myrtle or Charleston, it makes me leery, since a little wobble puts the most intense side of the storm right on us.

For us personally, we are all good at OIB. Not the same for everyone though. There were 9 houses fires on the island last night and a ton of flooding. Still haven't opened the bridge yet.

Good luck to all those out there. We went to OIB just after 4th of July and really enjoyed it.

One of my best friends just lost his Driftwood Dr house last night. Unbelievable.

It certainly intensified as it approached land. I think it will officially go down as a landfalling 85mph storm but honestly, wouldn't shock me if it actually landfalled around 90-95mph. It was intensifying at a pretty good clip before hitting land. Here's to hoping it the last one we deal with this year.
