We are 10 days away from the Spring Equinox, where we will experience 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness. The Sun moves over different latitudes of Earth throughout the year. Question is....where will the Sun be directly overhead on March 20?
(1/2) Time's up! It's the Equator!
We have two equinoxes in the Spring and Fall. The Sun oscillates between 23.5N (Tropic of Cancer) in the Northern Hemisphere summer (Summer Solstice) and 23.5S (Tropic of Capricorn) in the Northern Hemisphere winter (Winter Solstice).
(2/2) After the Spring Equinox, we will continue to gain daylight, reaching a peak in the Summer Solstice, in which the Sun will be directly overhead at 23.5N.
