I don't have Chrysler numbers in front of my but the quality of arm and depth of them is head and shoulders what we've ever had. Avent had one trip to Omaha pre-Chrysler, with Rodon, two trips with him carried by a bunch of pitchability righties and mega stuff in the pen between Justice, Villaman, Dudan, Smith. They've had real prospects yearly: Swiney, Justice, Villaman, Fritton, etc. I don't think anybody knows how many or which strings Avent pulls compared to Chrysler, which is the main complaint. But as far as I can tell, a lot of the things we don't like pre-dated Chrysler

Absolutely agree with what you're saying and for the record I am indifferent on Chrysler. Before this year I was a fan of his. If Sogard is an option obviously would prefer that for multiple reasons.

Just to make counter argument because I love talking baseball. Velocity and stuff is up across baseball in general.

My problems this with Chrysler this year start with you have so many guys with legit stuff and you couldn't turn one of them into a competent bullpen arm. Kitchings, Manuel, Black, JP, Heintz, Ragusa, Hemric, Garino

Not to mention the lack of progression from Consiglio and Heath Andrews who both are extremely talented.

I usually blame the players first but with this many talented guys and not one developed over the course of the year, it raises eyebrows.

Most of those guys you mention above have command issues. It starts with recruiting. We have to do a better job of identifying the right guys. 96 doesn't mean **** if you can't command the baseball. In fact college hitters could give a **** in general about velo. It is about stuff. Like Ben McDonald talked about all weekend. It is what makes you different. What do you do differently. 2 of the dudes Carolina throw out there in McDuffie and Decaro command it and have elite change ups. Most of our guys have stock stuff with a lack of
Command.

Most high school guys don't come in with elite change ups. They don't need it in high school. If they have stuff, command, and multiple pitches they aren't stepping foot on campus.

I have no problem taking stuff and trying to develop it. But that's the key development.

Many of those guys you listed were portal guys. The HS guys don't need it in HS but if you have a clue you know you have to have it when you arrive on campus.
McDuffie came in with the CU. Decor came in with the CU.

Just went and read the perfect game write up on those Carolina pitchers

Glauder- 89-91, primary secondary pitch is a flat sweeper (not good), and would occasionally throw a change up to left handed hitters.

Mcduffie was so low rated he didn't have a write up or even a grade by PG.

Decaro was rated 8.5 by PG. Not great.

McDuffie and DeCaro also have the highest BB% in the league.

It's amazing how we love Carolina players so much. But in reality they have 4 good pitchers that they ride. If they lost 2 of them they would be in the same spot State is in.

Dudan, Mahron, and Nance are just as good as their top guys.

So would it be fair to say they don't command it if they're walking guys at the highest rates in the league?

What's interesting is I saw a stat that said stuff matters far more than command.

In the big leagues the difference in BA on a pitch on the black and pitch a few more inches over the plate is very very marginal.

Basically the conclusion was get the guy with the best swing and miss "stuff" then get ahead in the count.

Glauber and Decaro were ranked higher than all our guys with the exception of Anderson Nance.

Dudan was rated 6.5 by PG.

What we need to change and this has nothing to do with Clint or Sogard or whomever (IMO), is the NIL available to bring in the top 100 type arms that want to go to college.

When is the last time we brought in a Chris Levonas type? Kid was top 45 in the country, Wake's #2 was ranked 63rd nationally. That's what we're missing and hopefully Hart will welcome NIL fundraisers and funds to get and keep those type arms.

Our highest ranked arms since 2015

Dalton Feeney - 92nd
Villaman - 107
Jaxon Lucas - 117
Austin Pace - 173
Bienlien - 211

The kid from KC coming in next year, Otto Knust, is ranked 276th. He's already 6'5 220 and pumpin low-mid 90s per his tweeters. Need more of that, that's ready to contribute.

The 3 JUCO arms that are signed seem to be highly regarded as well so hopefully we can hit on at least two of those guys.

Hopefully we can get some NIL rustled up to add a big arm or two along with some bats.

Oh, and I guess my point in all that rambling was we had/have some pretty good coaches.

I am not getting into the coaching discussion. I agree with the fact that we don't consistently recruit at the level that UNC or Wale of late does. We are oftentimes out there trying to find diamond in the rough type Money or otherwise I don't know but it is an issue.

I will give you an example of an on state arm. We didn't even recruit Rhett britt who has been a top 100 guy most of his career. Has often been the top RHP in the state in 2026 class. Was committed to Wake and now signed with UNC. I am guessing that we just didn't think we could land the guy. Not sure why else.

Bingo. Avent was awesome for us and the school, but this program needs new blood BADLY. Game passed him by a few seasons ago. Can't keep running it back like this. We need some kind of infusion of new energy and strategy

He's been to two College World Series in the past five years. An absolutely ridiculous take.

"a few seasons ago" = the last 2 seasons where we have come up short relative to roster construction/minimized our talent/rosters. If you're cool with that, cool, I just think we need a new energy instead of the same stuff we've been doing the last 2 years. Hopefully hart provides it but running it back with this same staff is not something I'm excited for (hopefully hart makes a change somewhere)

He didn't forget how to coach over the course of one summer. Some of yall sound like some of the UNC basketball fans when they were asking to fire Roy.

But he's gone now, so we'll see where it goes.

He absolutely did his pitching staff and lineups no favors with leaving guys in too long and setting questionable batting orders. I'm not talking about not playing wiggins lol I wasn't in the wiggins debate. Avent used to be much better, in my opinion, at when to use certain relievers and when you pull them. He was never excellent at it but he was better. Hell, I don't think roy and avent are comparable. Roy won **** tons.

Yeah, I just want a fresh perspective from hart. Who knows if we get it

Elliott's only issue (IMO) was not embracing NIL.

And being 70 but he looks damn good for 70. Ha

Averts biggest issue wasn't his baseball coaching it was the uncertainty of his situation

Kids want the warm fuzzy that this is going to be their coach when they commit-I am sure it hurt us with some recruits
