This is a point I've been making from time to time. A right is not a right if it is merely selectively applied. The Socialists flip on a dime when it comes to abortion to vaccination. And I honestly don't think the clear-as-glass hypocrisy of it all even enters their pointy heads.

Hospitalizations are going up in NC. My question is simple. Is this all covid or a mixture of other things and covid? I assume it's a mixture and I'm sure someone will respond saying its all made up but I'm genuinely asking. Also says 56% of the 18+ is fully vaccinated. Hope that trend continues.

I mean, there is more detectable COVID out there right now.

Unfortunately, we don't have reporting for FROM COVID vs WITH COVID admissions. I wouldn't be surprised if both are increasing right now.

As we saw from NC State baseball, it is certainly possible to be vaccinated, test positive for COVID, and not actually really be infectious.

But, summer seasonal increase not really surprising.

Someone posted in this thread a few days ago that they had independently checked by talking to a doctor at a hospital in NC who told them they had zero patients at their hospital for covid and said that "covid is over", and yet that was contradicted by the "official data" coming from the state which claimed there were covid patients there. So there is no doubt some monkeying with the numbers to show this supposed "rise" in the number of "cases".

Also, I've read that they define a "covid hospitalization" as anyone who is at the hospital who tests "positive" for covid. So you could have someone at the hospital for a car wreck, other accident, or an illness totally unrelated to covid, and they are tested and come back "positive" and then counted as a "covid hospitalization"...and those people are not exhibiting any symptoms of being sick with a flu-like disease. And, of course, it's now well known that the PCR test is a total joke and completely unreliable, coming back with huge numbers of false "positives" for people that are not sick at all and do not actually have any disease. It's not like you have droves of people going to the hospital with flu-like symptoms who are "sick with covid". They are engaging in all sorts of shenanigans to fabricate what they are claiming as "covid cases" and "covid hospitalizations".

Manlet Mafioso-wannabe Fraudci says that the vaccines are nearing FDA approval, and once that happens a lot more vaccine mandates on the "local" level (city and state, businesses, etc) will occur.

This will certainly be the case. Fauci is a puppet and insider to the elites' agenda and knows what is planned and coming next.

Quote:

Fauci said he believes there is some hesitancy of vaccine requirements on the local level because the coronavirus vaccines have not yet been fully approved by the FDA, but instead were authorized for emergency use by the agency. "I think when you do see the official approval, Jake, you're going to see a lot more mandates," he said.

You will only see more mandates in Democrat run areas. Ridiculous that a coronavirus vaccine mandate would even be considered, but their position isn't "political".

Considering I looked at the CDC site yesterday and they showed roughly 5000 new case Saturday and Sunday and today it shows close to 20,000 for those days, I believe I am done paying attention to it. I've been fully vaccinated since April.

That's awesome. Sure some people may not have put forth the effort to get the vaccine so far but any person that can get the vaccine if they want it and it's right there is great.

Agreed.

"but, but, but....everyone has had plenty of chances and has made up there mind". Many have, for sure, and they can just decline. But some have not...maybe this catches some of them. And sure appears they are targetting areas where access and mobility would be the issue.

Yep, if you are fully vaccinated, I would not worry too much about case numbers going up. 90%+ are unvaccinated individuals. Even higher percentage for serious cases. These vaccines work really, really well.

It's unclear, but I think they're going door to door with info first, not needles. Then, if you want someone to come to your home to vaccinate you, you can request it. If that's what's happening, that's great. I agree, though, I would be pretty hesitant to let someone who just knocked on my door and flashed a badge to stick my arm!

Basically, we all agree that anyone coming to your door, ready to put a needle in you, is not a good idea. Yet, many have put a needle in them, on an FDA unapproved drug.

Yea, I see the logic there...

Some local anecdotal evidence for vaccines, the youth at our church went on a local mission trip for a week and apparently brought COVID back with them. 11 teens have tested positive. We have a total of 42 cases within the church that have either tested positive or are symptomatic and refuse testing (work-related or COVID stigma). These are strictly individuals that can be traced back to the specific service in question.

From what we can tell, almost all were unvaccinated. Only 1 hospitalization so far that we are aware of (not a teen).

ETA: This is our first large county outbreak in 2-3 months.

Perfect example of the quandary we are in now. For the last year, we've heard "follow the science", or you must be a mouth-breathing fundamentalist boob. Now, California is going to go against CDC guidance and make all kids wear masks in school, even if vaccinated.....because they don't want kids to be tagged unfairly, or to look different.

California K-12 students who refuse to wear masks will be barred from school grounds, state says | Fox News

Well, isn't that ironic. So....follow the science, until science hurts someone's feelings?
Will the media, will the Governor, will the POTUS call out the CA School system for going against science, or give them a pass because its a unique use case?

*And I don't even lose sleep over the decision...wearing masks isn't going to hurt anyone, even if its not overly protective. But its the hypocrisy of the situation I find frustrating...and continues to drive the divide in Americans.
Just received a text this AM...my county, Union, just sent out a distribution text saying that the Board of Education voted to make masks optional for students and staff, on all campuses

Frankly, I'm not sure what other options were considered.

Yep - awesome that they're making medical professionals available to help come and bring the vaccine to them.

I certainly did, although it was via a clinic arranged through my workplace. Emergency vaccine approval didn't mean a lack of clinical trials or medical reviews, so I was fine with it. Any risk from the abbreviated approval process far far outweighed the immediate Covid risk in my mind, but I gather you disagreed. Although, you seem like someone who would appreciate less red tape!

What is the Babylon Bee exactly? Is that a conservative knock-off of The Onion? Yours isn't the first post I've seen from there but I've never asked about it - that's just what it looks like.

My purely anecdotal observation from my trip to Sam's club just now, there were three dozen or more people wearing masks, and one hundred percent of those were people of color. Sam's policy states that fully vaccinated people don't need to wear masks, and while it is wrong to assume that all of those wearing masks were not vaccinated, it's a pretty safe assumption I think. I did not poll those wearing masks as to their political affiliation, but I'm assuming again that they weren't all pubs. Of course, it is possible that not everyone that wasn't wearing a mask is being truthful with their vaccination status. The point of all of this is that I think it's a fallacy to simplify the vaccination issue down party lines. I know that it's the easy narrative, but regardless of what polls say, I think it's more complicated than that.
Unfortunately that won't keep "them" from continuing to do so. We even have our resident libs trying to push it here on a regular, ongoing basis. Fortunately, no one pays much attention to their tripe here anymore... and their posts are increasingly falling on deaf ears.

Oh, and Great Post! Could not agree more with the general take...

I'm in a tourist zone (as you are as well in general) and I also see a small percentage of white women wearing masks in coastal grocery stores (which I would presume - but admittedly do not know - are vacationers from the NE corridor down here amongst us heathens!) and a very "miniscule" amount of white men wearing them... usually only when they are with their entire "masked" family. The overall amount of people wearing masks isn't even 10% down here.
