People either getting vaccinated or getting sick is what will lead us there. If people would get vaccinated then this corner turn would come quicker....however, the vaccinations have now been politicized and people's egos wont allow them to get vaccinated.
The "politicization" is not the problem. 99% of Republican politicians are pushing the vaccines as well, including Trump who created the "operation warp speed" to produce the vaccines. The real reason why ~30-40% of the population refuses to take the vaccines is because the do not trust that these vaccines are "safe" and/or believe that vaccines are harmful, including many people who believe that there is a nefarious reason why vaccines are pushed on the population (to deliberately cause harm to those taking the vaccines). And that includes many people who are democrats who refuse to take the vaccines. Black Americans have the lowest vaccination rate of any racial demographic group -- many of which do not trust vaccines due to things like the Tuskegee experiment.

There's no one, singular problem.

But don't kid yourself, vaccine politicization is a huge problem.

As of last month, 50% of Republicans had had at least one shot, compared with 80%+ for Dems.

27% of Pubs are outright refusing vaccines, compared with 3% of Dems doing the same.

There is tremendous GOP resistance to vaccines. Vaccine adoption breaks more strongly among political lines than any other demographic data category, except for age.

We can all argue about how we got here, but let's not sugarcoat where we are.

Only time will tell who made the appropriate decision. As gas I can tell, these vaccines are not FDA approved! mRNA is has never been through the scrutiny needed for some to feel comfortable. Right now, the people are the Petri dish!

There's a HUGE disconnect in these numbers being "reported" for vaccination rates...as with all sorts of reported "data" (for "cases", "covid deaths", etc) regarding this Covid clown show. This article here (written just a few days ago) has analyzed the CDC data and says that only 47% of white Americans have received at least one dose, and only 34% of black Americans (looking at data from 40 states, the ones that report based on race).

https://www.kff.org/coronavirus-covid-19/issue-brief/latest-data-on-covid-19-vaccinations-race-ethnicity/

Quote:

Overall, across these 40 states, the percent of White people who have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose (47%) was roughly 1.4 times higher than the rate for Black people (34%) and 1.2 times higher than the rate for Hispanic people (39%) as of July 6, 2021.
How in the world can "80%" of Democrats have taken at least one shot, when only 34% of black people have taken at least one shot?

I don't deny that Republicans are less likely to be willing to be injected with this poison. But that's not because Republican politicians (or Fox News) are telling them "don't take the vaccine". Like I said, about 99% of Republican politicians are pushing the vaccines on their constituents, including the Bad Orange Man himself. Republican voters just so happen to be the more intelligent portion of the population...demonstrated by their higher level of distrust of the government and Establishment.

That said, the low rate of vaccination of black Americans is probably on par with the low rate among Republicans at large. Black Americans also appear to have a deep distrust of the government and Establishment in general.

Saw something today that overlay the states by POTUS victor with vaccination rates, and the conclusion they drew was that Dem states were much higher % of vaccination. Of course, the highest states were predominantly the extremely Dem-leaning New England states.

But I too think that the black / hispanic vacc rates have to be lagging behind.
And so seems that the reasons those states are so much higher is due to the age of the population? Aren't most of those NE states predominantly the states with the oldest populations, which would be a great reason for them to be more vaccinated?

I'm sure these demographic data exists...and perhaps its published..

French government moves closer to mandatory vaccines, orders all health workers to be jabbed, mandates vaccine passports to ride on public transport or go to a movie theater. Scumbag Illuminati puppet Macron says "the only way back to normal life" is for "all" French people to be injected with the poison.

https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/france-make-covid-19-shot-mandatory-health-workers-bfm-tv-2021-07-12/

Quote:

PARIS, July 12 (Reuters) - All health workers in France must get COVID-19 jabs and anyone wanting to get into a cinema or board a train will need to show proof of vaccination or a negative test under new rules announced by President Emmanuel Macron on Monday.

Unveiling sweeping measures to combat a surge in infections, Macron said vaccination would not be compulsory for the general public for now but stressed that restrictions would focus on those who are not vaccinated.

"We must go towards vaccination of all French people, it is the only way towards a normal life," Macron said in a televised address to the nation.

It's easy to write a report nowadays and make it say exactly what you want it to... please remember that we have an unbiased media that is 100% trustworthy.

That drivel that Civ posted is just another example of "cooked numbers" to continue the ongoing politicization of covid... and by the way GP - like it or not - so is the Red State / Blue State chart that 91 is talking about (that you posted here a couple of weeks back).

Also, didn't someone post 2-3 weeks ago some numbers on North Carolina specific that Asians were getting vaccinated at a higher rate than Whites? Why are the citizens of Japan so dramatically different in rates than Asians in NC?

Seems like some want to continue to try to pigeon hole some of us into certain groups to fit their own political needs... and you can make a "report" show whatever you want it to now. That's why I don't believe 75% of what comes out of "mainstream" media anymore... Cue up the bogus media chart showing ABC, CBS, NBC sitting perfectly right in the middle of being "unbiased" - and then watch the news one night... I used to watch ABC every. single. night. Now, I haven't watched it for more than 5 minutes in at least 2 years.

I joined this forum after a couple of your posts were in the results of a Google search. I see you've been trying to wake people up for years. I too was wise to it in the early 2000's but it was clear I could do nothing to stop it. Focusing on it was consuming me & achieving nothing, so I made a decision to "get on with my life" ....& in so doing, I forgot the truth.

And now, here we are. You know what time it is. You've known & tried to wise people up before it's too late. I'm ashamed to say; it took me a few months to re-see the truth when the end game began last year. At first I bought the lie.

There's a joke going round currently: "At this point, the difference between the truth & conspiracy theory is about six months." Still the masses refuse to see. I don't blame them, really. The dystopian truth is acutely horrible & accepting it undermines a person's whole foundation & world view, whilst solutions are thin on the ground if not seemingly impossible. I understand it cos I've been worse than them - seeing the truth but then going back to sleep. Ignorance may be bliss but the masses waking up is what's required for humanities survival. Unfortunately, its clear that isn't likely to happen.

Anyway I just wanted to say thank you, friend. For persevering in trying to help the blind see, despite the mocking ridicule. I'm not meaning to be downbeat about it. I do believe the so-called Elite's greed may yet be their downfall via infighting. Sure they seem to have the plot sewn up, but every plan has weak spots, unforeseen twists, and with so much evil in this huge game of monopoly, the people with black hearts may yet turn on each other when they lose a square on the board via "unfair means." Hope dies last.

Cue up the bogus media chart showing ABC, CBS, NBC sitting perfectly right in the middle of being "unbiased" - and then watch the news one night... I used to watch ABC every. single. night. Now, I haven't watched it for more than 5 minutes in at least 2 years.

The "drivel I posted" was from the Wall Street Journal, not some liberal rag.

You can look at public vaxx rates by State and observe the same.

Give me some data, any reasonable data, that corroborates your assertion that vaxx rates are relatively evenly distributed across parties.

Look. A dem politicizing the vaccine. Again.

Civ, the Wall Street Journal may not be a liberal rag; however, the world isn't completely left/right in the normal sense. We also have Globalist/Corporatist vs Nationalist. The Wall Street Journalist is on the Globalist/Corporatist side of things.

I'm not saying I disagree with the data supplied; rather, I have a guarded opinion on many news outlets anymore. The agendas, of each, are so mixed, its just crazy... I don't even know what to believe!!!

I hear you Cary.

This cycle of information distrust we've gotten into is such a huge problem.

It's one thing to hate on Don Lemmon or Anderson Cooper or Tucker Carlson as opinion talking heads; it's another to conflate them with actual journalists (especially print journalists from dispassionate and by all accounts centrist sources) and thus discredit actual honest-to-goodness journalists that are reporting actual news; and yet another to so easily say "oh, that data/fact/news story is fake news" when it doesn't fit your world view.

I'm not shoehorning you into any of these particular boxes, just agreeing with you that the distrust of news is an impediment to assessing we and why, and determining what best to do about it (with any issue).

I was thinking about starting a thread discussing the latest NEWS relating only to the corona virus so those of us who would rather not be harangued about all else could visit in peace. But I guess that would be an exercise in futility as the one trick ponies would just follow and corrupt that one too.
Like I said, if you cant get hyped for the Carolina game, why are you here?

I'm not sure its even feasible. Politics (and weaponized politics) are so ingrained into this discussion now, at the national level, that I'm not sure how you separate.

And both sides are exceedingly guilty.
So even actual data / news articles get widely differently interpreted and then one "side" calls the other out as to its interpretation*. As long as that is the mindset, you'll not get what you ask for -- a "news" only perspective.

*And thats not just this site.....its everywhere.

By and large, everyone here is on topic, including discussion of subjects that are related to covid - such as what governments are doing and why they are doing it. Even the Establishment faux "news" media discusses those things.

Are you really saying that you only want to hear viewpoints that repeat what the Establishment media tells us to believe? Only their viewpoint are " news"? People who present alternative views and information to the Establishment don't have valuable viewpoints to share?

No one is breaking any rules here. I don't understand why some people are so "hurt" by other people speaking their mind. And it makes for a better discussion anyway, when all related issues and various viewpoints are involved in the discussion.

Perfect example of the quandary we are in now. For the last year, we've heard "follow the science", or you must be a mouth-breathing fundamentalist boob. Now, California is going to go against CDC guidance and make all kids wear masks in school, even if vaccinated.....because they don't want kids to be tagged unfairly, or to look different.

California K-12 students who refuse to wear masks will be barred from school grounds, state says | Fox News

Well, isn't that ironic. So....follow the science, until science hurts someone's feelings?
Will the media, will the Governor, will the POTUS call out the CA School system for going against science, or give them a pass because its a unique use case?

*And I don't even lose sleep over the decision...wearing masks isn't going to hurt anyone, even if its not overly protective. But its the hypocrisy of the situation I find frustrating...and continues to drive the divide in Americans.

Agree with most of what you said. However, there is the argument (well-founded IMO) that wearing of masks causes psychological harm to young children - hindering their social development, as they cannot see the facial expressions of others, etc.

And actually, it harms adults as well, for the same reasons. It "dehumanizes" us all, to an extent - lowering our social interactions, and making those interactions less pleasant. It makes the world a more cold, dull, unhappy place.

I get that, and I think there is likely a certain truth to that as well. Frankly, I think the biggest adjustment would be hearing everything said....
I'd argue social media is much more damaging though

I mean, wearing masks didn't cause all the idiotic behavior we've witnessed at games since fans have been allowed back, or all the racist behavior the England fans have demonstrated after losing to Italy.

Pretty soon they'll want us all to just wear dull, grey jumpsuits so that everybody looks the same... except for those in charge of course...

My purely anecdotal observation from my trip to Sam's club just now, there were three dozen or more people wearing masks, and one hundred percent of those were people of color. Sam's policy states that fully vaccinated people don't need to wear masks, and while it is wrong to assume that all of those wearing masks were not vaccinated, it's a pretty safe assumption I think. I did not poll those wearing masks as to their political affiliation, but I'm assuming again that they weren't all pubs. Of course, it is possible that not everyone that wasn't wearing a mask is being truthful with their vaccination status. The point of all of this is that I think it's a fallacy to simplify the vaccination issue down party lines. I know that it's the easy narrative, but regardless of what polls say, I think it's more complicated than that.
Just a guy on the sunshine squad.
