Bailey isn't far from a payday.

Watching the supers today, home runs everywhere. Five home runs in Durham on the first couple innings.
We need a big time power infusion on our roster to get back to where we want to be.
I mean yes, we need more "power" but I think that will come with some guys getting a year older/stronger. Ty Head "just missed" quite a few bombs this year, with another year in the weight room that warning track power turns into HRs, IMO.SportManagementEngineer said:

Agree on 3B production, I also wouldn't hate seeing trying to get more power at first if you could slide McHugh to corner OF spot but I am fine with him staying at first as well.CLTWolf said:I mean yes, we need more "power" but I think that will come with some guys getting a year older/stronger. We've already discussed McHugh and his power profile, just need Hart/BoRob to work on that, the power profile is there.
Hogue/Fraasamn are already double digit HR guys. Fraasman has some big pop, just needs to adjust his approach at the plate a lil bit.
Wouldn't surprise me to see Sosa have another jump in power similar to what we saw in Cozart from SO to JR year (10 to 19).
Where we need the boost is from our 3B next year. We got .265 9 and 55 out of 3 different dudes playing 3rd. We need to find and old dude in the AMak/Ben Miller (minus the stupid 'stache) mold. haha. They were/are grown ass men.
Novy has big time power and lord only knows how many he will park with a full season in the lineup next year.
Devin Mitchell is coming in from Flo-Dar JUCO with 16 HRs over two seasons, hitting 12 as a FR last year. He's 6'1 205-210 so he's got some size as well.
If Hogue/Fraasman go in the draft (stranger things have happened, I guess) Mitchell can easily slot into one of the corner OF spots from the jump, IMO.

+ speed & willingness to run.

I know this is a late post. But I just wanted to draw attention again to how absolutely freaking absurd it is that Ty Head went 6-6 stealing bases this year.
That's how you offset the teams lack of power production. Turn a single into a double by stealing a base. Like in any sport you have to have ways to put pressure on opposing defenses.
It was so bad.PGAWolf said:Alex Gee said:SportManagementEngineer said:

- More speed and willingness to steal bags.
- Less bunting l, except for certain late game situations
- More work on running the bases (when ball is in play). Situational work is what I mean. Guys look lost sometimes.
- More emphasis on week day games. Start the Sunday starter if you have to and let him pitch 4-5 innings.
- Find your top 7-8 arms and use the hell out of them.

He's draft eligible though, he ain't transferring anywhere unless he doesn't get the asking price he wants.SportManagementEngineer said:TRANSFER: @WakeBaseball superstar OF Ethan Conrad is entering the Transfer Portal, I'm told. Brutal loss for Wake.
Catcher is not really a highly paid position to start with and Bailey isnt getting a megadeal unless he starts hitting. He'll make enough to have a nice life but if you want "**** you" money type paychecks to start rolling in youre gonna have to go back to the well with Trea and Carlosboguesound said:
