Giants had bases loaded last night with no outs and came away with nothing. Iirc, Rodon has won his last 2 starts with help from 2 solo shots in each game. The Gaints have some serious holes in their bats and I hope it doesn't hurt them later on in the season.

Braves lead off the inning with a single, then a double scores a run. Carlos retires the next three with a ground out moving the runner to third, a line out to first, and a strike out to end the inning.

Through 7 he has given up 3 hits, 1 walk, 1 run, and 10 strikeouts. At 89 pitches right now.

Before today, no San Francisco Giants starting pitcher had ever thrown a 9th inning pitch at 98+ MPH because of course they hadn't.

Carlos Rodn threw SIX at 98+ in the 9th today and his last pitch for a game-ending whiff was at 99.1 MPH!!!

1 player per team rule leaves deserving players off All-Star roster.

looking at starting pitchers only, I see how that rule kept Rodon off roster. I think pitchers who start Saturday or Sunday before All-Star game are replaced but not sure

Not surprising Carlos Rodn will be inactive for All-Star Game. Both he and Gabe Kapler hinted he wouldn't pitch, neither seeming all in on appearing. Team's preference would be he's at full force to start first game after break.

MLB says Carlos Rodn will be inactive for All-Star Game. Giants had made it pretty clear they preferred for him not to pitch, he likely opens second half Thursday night at Dodger Stadium. He was replaced by a Dodger, Tyler Anderson.

Yes, it still counts as a hit since the right fielder didn't touch the ball. Would've been inning over but instead 3 ERs. 2 runs scored off that play then another as the next batter got a base hit as well.
