Obvious statement coming, but it is crucial for us to keep Vandy off the bases in the 1st and 2nd innings and give us a chance to get settled in against Leiter without having to chase runs. No matter what happens, these boys are going to make us proud and fight like hell. That's for sure.

Young - A 1-1 chopper to 1B, Murr fields and takes care of it himself.
Keegan - First pitch swinging, drives a line drive to CF for a single.
LaNeve - Rolls over the 2-1 pitch to 2B and Jarrett retires him with ease.

Highfill throws just 11 pitches in his first frame.

Score is tied 0-0 going to B1; Murr, TMcD, and Butler due up for the Pack.
