Carlos really needs to add a 3rd pitch. Man, his fb/slider combo is deadly but a 3rd pitch would give him so much more upside going forward. The best have 3 go-to and 1-2 more they throw every now and then to keep hitters honest. He really needs a change-up or curve to hit that next level, imo.

Dude is going to get PAID this offseason.

Since Rodon is still not even 30 and putting up video game numbers on a 1-year deal, is it possible for him to benefit from an all-out bidding war this off season and approach Gerrit Cole or Strasburg type long-term contract numbers?

Most impressive is that he's continuing to do this after the MLB instituted those rules on sticky stuff/the baseball.

Los has always had tremendous movement on his pitches though. Not saying he wasn't using something to get a better grip on the ball, but even back in HS he could really spin it.

so that would give 6 days between starts with Rodon starting Wednesday August 4 vs Royals

I looked briefly at lineup information prior to game and even though small sample size, 25-40 career at bats vs Rodon, Royals had 3-5 players hitting over .300 vs Rodon for career.

I also wonder if Grandal, normal catcher being in injured reserve is also a factor. Grandal last played July 5.
