Happy for Creed, he has been so close many of times.

Excited to see him get the win. But that was a pure power move by Hill to get the lead late. Atlanta has such good racing.

The racing has been good, hopefully today delivers.

Some exciting racing....the inside lane is so fast but they cant stay together because they have to lift or they get such a huge run they cant stay hooked up. If the outside stays together they can pull ahead. Only problem is, the outside lane won't stay in line and they keep breaking it up as they keep over taking each other. Makes for exciting racing!

This is racing. You have to lift. You can't just run wide open for 500 miles

How the hell did TR win that race without a right front fender?

Hocevar just doesn't do anything for me. Way too reckless out there.

Of course my guy took himself and a bunch of others out of this one, and Larson did the same much earlier than that.

Race overall was pretty good. Got messy a little bit at the end. Going to be a big swing in tracks, now a road course.

Unfortunately, the networks now use these "features" to show more commercials than ever while claiming to continuing to "show live coverage" of the race itself... same with the "Playing Through" feature on the golf telecasts.

I'm not actually sure if it's really better or not. *Well, yes, it is... but the longer breaks severely marginalize its "advertised" upside in my opinion (no pun intended).

Yep, when they are "showing live coverage" while on a commercial break, the screen is small. I do like being able to continue seeing the race but hate it when there is a wreck during that period....you can see it but have to wait until they come back from the commercial to get the "story" of the wreck. But, I guess it is still better than not seeing it and learning about it entirely after the break is over. First world problems I guess

I do like what Toyota did....they had Mike Joy announce that Toyota had sponsored one of the commercial breaks and instead of going to a commercial, Toyota allowed them to continue showing the race, just using the announcement from Mike as their vocal advertisement.

So this lawsuit may have more to do with Hendrick ( technical alliance with Spire ) and getting info on Toyota set ups. Hadn't thought about that.

Just be yourself. The growing part will happen, NASCAR basically lost a generation of fans. Heck, now when we go, you see a lot of young families and kids at these races. That's a good thing. You are even seeing this at the local tracks as well.

.@FoxTV averaged 4.487 million viewers for Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series race at Echo Park, off 2% from 4.586 million last year.

Part of the race had to compete against the @Olympics Closing Ceremony.

I'll be honest here, I had all forgotten about this track and it ever coming back.

Interesting

4.5 million viewers for 2nd @NASCAR Cup race of 2026, and with some Olympic competition

Reminder: Best F1 race all-time in the U.S. is 3.1M on ABC for 2024 Miami GP
NASCAR beat Michigan-Duke, which Saturday got ESPN's best reg. season college hoops audience in 7 years (4.3M)

Right now - the #77 reminds me of the #1 from Ross Chastain's rookie season except that Hocevar isn't as good as Ross was then yet...

The King may be starting to have a little dementia kicking in - and he certainly shouldn't be using Earnhardt's name in any type of theoretical comparison to Hocevar (or anyone else for that matter).

The 77 is no Dale. All the 77 is doing is making his first win harder and harder.

.@Craftsman's title sponsorship of @NASCAR_Trucks expires after this year and a renewal hasn't been reached yet, so the sanctioning body will likely soon enter the sponsor market for a potential replacement in case no deal is reached, per people familiar.

At this point just make it a points race. Honestly not sure how I feel about this one.

Some lady liberal around there trying to change the whole idea of Nashville. Doesn't want it to be "country" anymore. I guess that means racing too.

OK. So, I'm now sitting here trying to soak this all in...

1. Getting rid of "The Open" (the race for the losers to try to get in the "real" race). Two words. Thank God. *can't imagine how many years I got put to sleep early watching that crap, waiting for the "real" race to finally come on.

2. Top 26, then flip. blah, blah, blah... who cares?

3. Then after all that - it still reverts to all of the previously qualified "winners" getting in automatically, and then the rest of the 26 spots get filled based on the first two stages... fine, but it sure does make those first two stages seem like they are for nothing in the big picture.

4. Best part (other than getting rid of The Open). We get 200 laps with no gimmicks to finish.

All depends on what time that actual racing starts though before I can render any final opinion.

Race is 1 pm. Like you, I do like the laps with no " extra " stuff thrown in.

lol…My thought is that since Dover lost it's points paying race this year, NASCAR and SMI wanted a close experience to a actually points race with high car count to sell tickets and make current ticket holders happy.
