Third-ranked NC State women's basketball (25-3, 16-1 ACC) will wrap up its 2021-22 regular-season slate on the road as it visits No. 23 Virginia Tech (21-7, 13-4 ACC) on Sunday evening. Tip-off between the Wolfpack and the Hokies is set for 6 p.m. from Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg, Va.

The game will be televised nationally on the ACC Network, and radio broadcaster Andrew Sanders will be on the call on WKNC 88.1 FM in Raleigh.


SERIES HISTORY (NC State leads 24-2)
Sunday's game marks the 27th meeting between NC State and Virginia Tech. The teams have met at least once every season since 2004-05, which was the Hokies' first year in the ACC.
The Wolfpack and the Hokies are set to face off as a pair of ranked teams for the first time in program history. Virginia Tech has been ranked in two previous matchups with NC State, but the Pack was unranked in both of those games (76-75 OT win on Jan. 17, 2005 and 64-44 win on Jan. 2, 2006).
NC State and Virginia Tech have already met once this season, with the Wolfpack taking the 51-45 victory inside Reynolds Coliseum on Jan. 23.
The Wolfpack has won the last two games against the Hokies as it also won the 2021 ACC Tournament quarterfinal matchup last season.
The Hokies have just two victories in the all-time series, with the most recent win coming in the teams' second meeting of the 2020- 21 regular season. Virginia Tech won that Jan. 28, 2021 overtime game by an 83-71 score on its home floor to snap the Pack's seven- game winning streak in the series.
Sunday will be NC State's 12th trip to Cassell Coliseum. The Wolfpack is 10-1 in the previous 11 road games against the Hokies.

NC State is the No. 1 seed for the 2022 ACC Tournament that is set to run March 2-6 in Greensboro, N.C. The Wolfpack will open tournament action on Friday, March 4 after a double bye and will face either No. 8-seed Boston College or No. 9-seed Florida State in that quarterfinal matchup.

After securing the No. 1 seed at the ACC Tournament for the first time in 32 years, the third-ranked NC State women's basketball team (26-3) will open action at the 2021 edition of the event in the quarterfinal round on Friday afternoon. The Wolfpack will play the winner of Thursday's game between eighth-seeded Boston College and ninth-seeded Florida State at 2 p.m. on Friday.
