Alaina Smith of NC State softball hit the walk-off home run to allow the Wolfpack to defeat UNCW, 3-2 in non-conference action on Tuesday night at Dail Softball Stadium.

Trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the sixth, Sam Sack stepped up to the plate and tied the game with a two-run homer to center field. The Seahawks (20-6) tried to respond in the seventh as they placed runners on first and second, but Aisha Weixlmann ended their threat with a huge strikeout.

In the bottom half of the seventh, Smith went up to bat with one out and hit the first pitch she saw over the center field wall to give NC State (22-12) the 3-2 comeback win. Her walk off was the first of her young career and it was her first home run hit at Dail Stadium.

Weixlmann went the distance in the circle to improve to 10-5 finishing with seven strikeouts and one earned run in her fourth complete game of the season. Smith had an outstanding day at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a home run while Sack followed behind with a 1-for-2 outing with a home run and two RBI.

Wolfpack win's the game against UNCC 9-4. The Pack hit four homers tonight and Maddie McPherson collects her sixth win of the season, bringing her record to 6-5. NC State will host Louisville for a three game series starting on Friday.

NC State earned its second win in as many days taking down Charlotte, 9-4 in non-conference softball play on Wednesday night inside of Dail Softball Stadium.

The Wolfpack's (23-12) offense exploded for eight hits including three home runs which was too much to handle for the 49ers (22-11).

Logan Morris led the charge for the Pack as she finished 2-for-4 at the plate with a home run, her 11th of the season, three RBI and two runs scored. Kaylee Lambrecht followed behind going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a walk.

Maddie McPherson earned the win to improve to 6-5 on the season after tossing 5.2 innings with five strikeouts and three runs.

Morris began the scoring as she teed off for a three-run home run to left field. Randi Farricker stepped up to the plate after Morris and hit her eighth home run of the year to put the Pack up 4-0 at the end of the third.

In the fifth, NC State added a run off a Charlotte error before Sam Sack hit a two-run home run to lead 7-0. Charlotte responded with three runs in the top of the sixth. In the bottom half of the inning, Brittany Jackson hit her first home run of the season, a two-run shot to give NC State a 9-3 lead.

The 49ers added one run in the seventh, leading to the final score 9-4.

NC State softball will play its penultimate home ACC series this season against Louisville this weekend.

The series opener is set for Friday at 6 p.m. while Saturday and Sunday's games will start at 1 p.m. and noon, respectively. All three games will be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra.

NC State used two explosive innings to slide past Louisville, 7-5 in game one of an Atlantic Coast Conference softball series on Friday night inside of Dail Softball Stadium.

With the win, head coach Jennifer Patrick-Swift earned her 100th victory at NC State (24-12, 4-9 ACC). Over her four years at the helm, Patrick-Swift holds a 100-70 (.588) overall record.

Brittany Jackson led the offensive charge for the Wolfpack as she went 1-for-2 with a home run and a career-high four RBI. Michele Tarpey and Randi Farricker both posted two hits apiece while Tarpey added two runs to her stat line.

Maddie McPherson improved to 7-5 on the season as she earned the win in the circle tossing 3.1 innings only allowing one run while striking out two batters.

Louisville (18-14, 2-5 ACC) jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the fourth inning after hitting two long balls in the frame. In the bottom half of the inning, Taylor Johnson scored on a wild pitch before Jackson hit her second homer of the season, a three-run shot to knot the game at 4.

In the sixth, Jackson plated a run off a sacrifice fly to the warning track in left field before Kaylee Lambrecht stepped up to the plate and pushed home two more runs with a single to right center field. The Cards responded with a solo homer in the seventh but was unable to complete the comeback as the Pack won, 7-5.

NC State was outlasted by Louisville on Saturday, dropping a 9-7 decision in Atlantic Coast Conference softball action inside of Dail Softball Stadium.

The Wolfpack (24-13, 4-10 ACC) was able to jump out to an early lead but the Cardinals (19-14, 3-5 ACC) never gave up hope and pulled off the comeback win.

Logan Morris finished 3-for-5 at the plate to lead NC State with a run and an RBI. Brittany Jackson followed behind going 2-for-3 with a run, an RBI and a walk while Libby Whittaker added a home run with two RBI and a career-high two walks.

Sam Gress was dealt the loss to move to 7-3 on the season after tossing 3.2 innings giving up two runs while striking out one batter.

The Pack scored first as Taylor Johnson crossed home plate off an error in the second inning. Later in the inning, Whittaker hit her fifth homer of the season, a two-run shot to increase NC State's lead to 3-0. The Wolfpack scored two more runs in the second off a hit by pitch and a walk to take a commanding 5-0 lead.

The Cardinals' bats exploded in the fourth as the Cards posted seven runs in the inning off two three-run homers and an RBI double. Trailing 7-5 in the fifth, Jackson stepped up and hit an RBI double off the left field wall to score Maddy Schmeiser. Morris followed behind with an RBI single to tie the game at 7.

In the seventh, Louisville hit a two-RBI double and shut NC State down in the bottom of the frame to earn the 9-7 win.

NC State scored all of its runs in the first three innings and held off Louisville for a 10-6 Atlantic Coast Conference softball series-clinching win on Sunday afternoon at Dail Softball Stadium.

The Wolfpack's (25-13, 5-10 ACC) offense caught fire early while the defense stepped up at the end to earn its second conference series win this season.

Logan Morris had an outstanding day at the plate going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs scored and a double. Randi Farricker Followed behind with a 2-for-4 outing to go along with two runs and an RBI while Michele Tarpey added a two-hit performance and an RBI.

Maddie McPherson earned the win in the circle to improve to 7-5 on the season. McPherson tossed 3.1 innings only allowing one run while getting five strikeouts.

In the bottom half of the inning, Morris hit a bases-clearing double right before Farricker hit an RBI single to center field to increase NC State's lead to 8-1. Later in the same inning, Sam Sack hit her seventh home run of the season, a two-run blast to go up 10-1.

For the third time this series, Louisville's offense opened up in the fourth inning as the Cards scored four runs to avoid being run ruled. Louisville added the final run in seventh, leading to the final score 10-6.

NC State softball begins a seven-game road trip on Friday traveling to Columbia, S.C. to play in the Garnet & Black Round Robin hosted by South Carolina.

The Wolfpack will open the Round Robin with an 11 a.m. game against East Tennessee State followed by a 2 p.m. game against host South Carolina on Friday. On Saturday, the Pack will face ETSU at noon and South Carolina at 5 p.m. to wrap up action.

NC State's games against ETSU will not be broadcasted but Friday's match against South Carolina will be televised on ESPN2 with the Round Robin finale on Saturday broadcast on SEC Network Plus.

NC State softball split its games on the first day of the Garnet & Black Round Robin as it defeated East Tennessee State, 4-0 before falling to host South Carolina, 9-3 at Carolina Softball Stadium on Friday.

After the 1-1 day, the Wolfpack moved to 27-14 on the season. In non-conference action, the Pack is 22-4 after Friday's contests.

ETSU Recap
Maddie McPherson tossed a gem as she improved to 9-5 on the season after throwing her first shutout of the season. McPherson finished the day with 6.0 innings pitched, a career high 10 strikeouts, no walks and only allowed three hits.

Kaylee Lambrecht scored NC State's first run in the first inning off a wild pitch. Libby Whittaker recorded the sole hit which turned into a three-run home run in the fourth, her sixth homer of the season.

ETSU (5-31) had two big opportunities to score in the fifth and seventh innings as the Bucs were able to place a runner on third with no outs in both innings. Both threats were erased with two strikeouts and a fly out.

SOUTH CAROLINA RECAP
Early defensive struggles seemed to be the difference in the second game of the day for NC State.

Logan Morris went a perfect 2-for-2 with a home run and two walks while both Kaylee Lambrecht and Alaina Smith added a hit and an RBI apiece. Aisha Weixlmann suffered the loss in the circle to move to 11-6 after posting a stat line of 1.2 innings pitched, eight runs (two earned) on two hits.

South Carolina (20-17) scored three runs in the first inning and never looked back. In the second, the Wolfpack responded with an RBI double from Smith. Lambrecht plated NC State's second run with an RBI single in the fourth before Morris tallied the Pack's final run with a solo homer in the seventh.

NC State softball finished action at the Garnet & Black Round Robin on Saturday defeating East Tennessee State, 5-3 before dropping a tight 3-1 decision to South Carolina inside of Carolina Softball Stadium.

The Wolfpack (28-15) wrapped up action in Columbia going 2-2 over the past two days.

ETSU RECAP
NC State used a third-inning rally to hold off any attempt of a comeback for the Buccaneers (5-33).

Sam Sack finished the game with a perfect 2-for-2 outing at the plate with a RBI and a stolen base, her first of the season. Randi Farricker followed behind going 1-for-3 with a run scored and a RBI.

Aisha Weixlmann (12-6) earned the win as she tossed 5.0 innings only giving up one run while striking out six batters.

Sack drove home the first run of the game in the first inning off an RBI single. In the third inning, Farricker hit a double off the center field wall that allowed Kaylee Lambrecht and Alaina Smith to score to give the Pack a 3-0 lead.

Later in the inning, NC State pulled off a double steal with Farricker stealing home. Logan Morris recorded NC State's final run as she hit her 13th homer of the season, a solo shot to left field in the fifth inning.

SOUTH CAROLINA RECAP
The Wolfpack stayed close with South Carolina (23-17) but could not get the big hit to cash in the extra runs in the tight battle.

Randi Farricker finished 1-for-2, tying her season high with two walks while Sam Sack had another perfect outing at the plate with a 1-for-1 performance and a walk. Maddie McPherson (9-6) was dealt the loss after tossing 6.0 innings, giving up three runs on seven hits while striking out three batters.

Despite having many early opportunities to score runs, NC State took advantage of a first-and-third double steal in the fifth inning to score its sole run of the game.

The Wolfpack had a solid chance to cash in either the tying run or go-ahead run in the seventh as the Pack loaded the bases with one out. After a pitching change, the Gamecocks ended NC State's threat by turning a double play to end the game.

NC State softball suffered two losses in the doubleheader against Georgia Tech, falling 3-0 in game one and 9-1 (6 inn.) in game two on Friday evening inside of Mewborn Field.

After the doubleheader, the Wolfpack moved to 28-17 overall and 5-12 in Atlantic Coast Conference action.

Game One Recap
The Pack tried battling back late but was unable to send any runners across the plate in game one.

Sam Sack and Carson Shaner recorded a hit in the contest with Michele Tarpey also registering a hit as she tallied her seventh double of the season. Brittany Jackson recorded a season-high two walks in the game, her team-leading 18th and 19th walks of the season.

Maddie McPherson was dealt the loss in the circle to move to 9-7 on the year. McPherson tossed 6.0 innings giving up three runs on seven hits while striking out two batters.

The Wolfpack had two key opportunities to push home a couple of runs beginning in the first inning as the Pack was able to load the bases with two outs, but a strikeout ended the threat. In the final frame, Tarpey hit a double to begin the inning before Shaner tallied a single.

The Yellow Jackets (30-12, 10-10 ACC) were able to keep the Pack scoreless as they forced three consecutive ground outs to end the game.

Game Two Recap
Offensive struggles continued in the second game for the Wolfpack despite being able to get on the board.

Taylor Ensley and Logan Morris combined for both of the Pack's hits in the contest with Morris adding a walk to her stat line. Aisha Weixlmann moved to 12-7 after taking the loss with a stat line of 3.1 innings, seven hits, six runs and four strikeouts.

The Wolfpack scored its sole run in the first inning as Sam Sack hit a sacrifice fly to center field that scored Kaylee Lambrecht from third. NC State threatened to score again in the fifth as the Pack placed runners on first and second with two outs but a pop up to third ended NC State's opportunity.
